Model 39-A edit
Model 39-A is the correct designation used in all Marlin literature prior to the "Golden" version. Marlin did not use the notation "Model 39A" BomberJoe 05:40, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
- They didn't back when they produced it true. However in the Golden 39A era it is now referred to as the Model 39A family and specifically the Model Golden 39A. No "-" is used anymore. Please refer to Marlin 39A page. Gateman1997 16:17, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

- In the 39A family many parts are interchangeable back to the Model of 1897 (minor fitting by a competent gunsmith on some parts may be required) so they are basically the same rifle: differences over the years have been minor, often just cosmetic: sights, stock, barrel and magazine length. An IP added this to the article. I've moved ot here pending a positive source:
- NOTE: After Remington Arms purchased Marlin they have consolidated production and closed plants. The Marlin 39a is no longer listed in the Remington catalog and the on-line Marlin catalog is out of date and even though the 39a is listed there are no new models available for sale.[1]}}

It appears the 39A is no longer being no manufactured. The Ruger buyout shows they now have out the .45-70 version of the 1895 back into production at the Ruger factory in North Carolina, and the 336 production line will be starting in February or March, 2023; and the 1894 in at least .44mag shortly afterwords- maybe June or July. No word on the 39A, however. J (talk) 02:14, 8 February 2023 (UTC)
