Marginocephalia same species different ages? edit

there was an article a little while a go that suggested that there is such a diverse range of this branch of dinosaurs that they may be the same species at different times in their life span. that the older and larger they are the more developed the ridges become. is it worth noting this here or has there been more in regards to this debunked or otherwise? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.120.90.59 (talk) 17:51, 7 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

There has been some degree of reclassification, yes; Torosaurus, for example, has been reclassified by Horner, Goodwin as an older form of Triceratops (http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/02724634.2010.483632) and several Pachycephalosauridaetaxa as younger forms of Pachycephalosaurus (http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0007626), but on a broader scale (family-level) it wouldn't affect cladograms. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.232.115.109 (talk) 18:23, 6 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
