Seiyuu

edit

I wanted to add Hiroki Takahashi as Hisoka's seiyuu, but this page is protected for some reason. So can someone make this edit whenever editing comes back into style? Bufori 21:39, 14 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

uhh...yeah...an admin came to protect it after me and another editor started reverting over a tag. I'll request an un-protection in a few days. But yeah, i'll go add it once the page is unprotected. --`/aksha 13:04, 15 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Comment about Killua's name

edit

Just leaving a note here on why i deleted the comment "The name Killua is an obvious pun on 'kill', referring to his murderous heritage." from the article.

  • Killua in jap would be pronounced as Ki-llu-a, not Kill-ua
  • i've never heard of that suggestion before, nor have i seen it on any other hxh sites/forums, nor does a google search come up with anything
  • There aren't exactly any other signs of Togashi making puns with english names in the manga. On the country, Togashi's "official version" of hxh names in english are pretty much rediculas.

Me thinks this was just made up by some over-imaginative fan Yaksha 05:06, 23 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've seen a Japanese anime artbook; the kind with screencaps & character designs, they spelled these names in plain english, some are really bad. They should have checked with the mangaka before publishing it; Gon Freecss, Killua Zaoldyeck, Curarpikt (almost Crapika), Hyskoa (almost Hysoka), Quoll (almost Qulolo), & Yellumi (almost Yellium). Good gawd..... http://www.nippon-animation.co.jp/na/hunter/chara/chara_top.html --LikaLaruku 04:42, 3 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

That's the problem--it's an anime artbook instead of a manga one. As far as I know, the company that created this product has no idea about these name spellings either, so names were romanized to the company's best ability. None of these (Except Freecss) has shown up in any other romanization by Togashi, so it's safe to say they're incorrect.--Mr. Toto 13:47, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sexuality

edit

In the manga, Hisoka shows no sexual interest in Machi. He asks if she's free for dinner & that's about it. He seems to like her because she's useful, interesting, & he enjoys ruffling her feathers. In the anime, he stares at Killua's & Gon's butts with much interest. He also called Killua's crossdressing little brother Kurata a cute unripe fruit, wich sounds pretty pervy. (But only in doujinshi will Hisoka ever sink his teeth into a ripe peach, lol ^o^) Hell, even guys & yaoi-hating girls think he's either gay or bi with gay preferances. & since it's not said how old Menchi is (she could be 11-15 or just a really short adult)it's safe to say that half of his personal meaning for "unripened" is "underaged." --LikaLaruku 04:42, 3 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Okay, this is true. There is little showing his interest towards Machi, and that was nothing compared to his interest in Gon and Killua. Fixed, and I'll add his sexual interest towards the kids as well. However, I think he is mainly excited by the actual fights he's going to be in, regardless of age or gender. --Mr. Toto 13:47, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

i dont know if you ask me he seemed to be in to her cause in the translation of the chapter she first appeared in he asked her what do you think of staying with me and then she slams the door and he says what a pity also i think hes just has a fetish for fighting and killing but maybe hes just like "The Todd" from the show scrubs --Zetsuie 03:16, 25 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
