Pirate Legend

Does anyone have any information on the Flaming Pearls of Magnetic Island? It is a pirate legend from the year 1680BC. Any info would be gratiously recieved.

Unlikely to be the same magnetic island mate, first known European records of the area are from the 18th century AD. - A.Hannay

Proposed merge with Magnetic Island National Park

The content is very small and shows little sign of developing. Merging it to the parent article makes sense until such time as there is sufficient material for a stand alone article. A redirect should be left in place after the merge. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 14:03, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

Infobox photo

Current infox photo

The infobox photo is about Townsville in the foreground with a dim view of Magnetic Island in the background (and the eye is drawn to Townsville as it is brighter). Could we use a photo that was more informative about what the island actually looks like? There are a number photos of Commons that I think would be better (see thumbs to right):

I think the full view of the Island (the current infobox photo) is neceesary in the article, though it does not have to be in the Infobox. I agree that we can upload those photos from Flicker to the Commons, and i have done some--Coekon (talk) 21:49, 24 May 2017 (UTC)
