I'll take this review. Don't expect the first comments for a couple days, I was without a computer for awhile and have some stuff to catch up on RE various GAN nominations and an A-class review of an article I worked on. • "He and Buster Posey both made their major league debuts in 2009, and have since established a reputation as one of the best batteries in recent MLB history" - I don't think the present tense in the second half of the sentence is appropriate, as they are no longer a battery. Maybe just drop "have since"
• Link innings in the lead.
• There are a ton of overlinks in the lead

Early life

• Link curveballs
• "Next season, he went 11–2" - Maybe "The next season, ..."?
• It's probably worth linking MVP

Draft and minor leagues

• Link side-arm delivery
• Earned run average and strikeouts have already been linked in the previous section, no need to link them again.

• Specify the opponent in the 2010 NLCS
• "In Game 4 of the World Series, Bumgarner pitched eight shutout innings, while allowing only three hits and one Ranger to reach second base, for his first career World Series win" - Explicitly state the Giants were playing the Texas Rangers, and link the Rangers

• " Bumgarner pitched ​8 2⁄3 and allowed one run in the ninth inning" maybe this would be better as "Bumgarner pitched 8 2/3 innings before allowing a run in the ninth"

2012

• "On June 12 at AT&T Park, in a 6–3 win over the Houston Astros, Bumgarner hit his first major league home run and also struck out twelve batters, becoming the first Giant to hit a home run and strikeout ten or more batters in the same game since Mike Krukow" - How significant this is is not readily determined without providing a year for Krukow's feat

• Find a way to combine the paragraphs in this section, they are all very short
• Did Bumgarner pitch in the NLDS or the NLCS in 2012? It should at least be mentioned that he pitched in whatever postseason games, even if he didn't do anything spectacular
• Link AT&T Park and state whether that is home or away directly

2014

• " ending his consecutive scoreless innings on the road streak at ​32 2⁄3 He earned the win in the Giants' 7–1 triumph" - Either make He lowercase or add a full stop
• "In three pitching appearances, Bumgarner gave up one run in 21 World Series innings and pitched ​52 2⁄3 total innings in the postseason[72] " - This sentence also lacks a full stop
• He got a save in Game 7 of the '14 Series [1]. That's worth mentioning explicitly, instead of waiting until his final postseason line to mention he got a save without specifying which game it was in.

2015

• Didn't he start Opening Day in '15 for the Giants? I think that's worth mentioning
• "and strikeout two hundred batters in a single season" - I think the verb form is strike out

2016

• I may be wrong, but didn't he start Opening day again?

• The velocity and pitch frequency stats are from 2014. A lot happens in five seasons of a pitcher's career, so newer stats in comparison would be helpful.

Career highlights

• "Bumgarner has hit 18 career home runs as a pitcher" - MLB.com has him at 19. Presumably, this is just an update issue, as the access date for the citation supporting 18 is from 2014

Awards

• I know the awards not cited in the table are cited above in the prose, but given that readers may not remember that, it's gonna look a lot better to recite here

• " Bumgarner had a half-sister, Dena, who died in 2010 after accidentally overdosing on pain medication following hospitalization[169] from cancer.[5]" - I'm not sure if it's necessary to state the OD, since Dena wasn't a public figure
  • I think we should leave it in there. People who read this are going to be wondering why a half-sibling (presumably somewhat close to his age) is dead already. Dena's relation to Bumgarner makes her notable. Sanfranciscogiants17 (talk) 18:25, 19 July 2020 (UTC)

• Ref 6 - Avoid the all caps in the article title, even it it's in the source
• Ref 14 is dead (baseball America 2007)
• The SBNation main site might be acceptable, but the team sites (mccovey chronicles) have much lower editorial oversights/standards, do probably shouldn't be used
• Bay Area Sports Guy looks rather self-published, the author would need to have very good credentials for it to be reliable

• Ref 68 (krocnews) - Avoid the ALL CAPS in the title
• Jewish Baseball News states "Custom Wordpress website by RDesign Tampa Bay Florida" at the bottom. Wordpress is a big self-published blog hosting site, so this source is likely below the bar for citing personal details in BLP articles.

There's a ton of overlinks in the whole article. There's a script for highlighting them, but I forget what it's called. A spot check of the reveals it's all supported (there are some outdated things). All but one of the refs I checked works. A handful of the refs are to unreliable sources. @Sanfranciscogiants17: - I've gone through the first pass. This one'll need some work, which is to be expected of an article of this length. • @Sanfranciscogiants17: - I was actually referring to making sure all of the rows in the table had a citation. Since it's all cited in the prose previously, it's more of a presentation issue than a citation issue, so I'm comfortable with passing this article. Hog Farm _Bacon 19:27, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
