This article is largely plagiarized from C-Span.

  • Reminder--text produced by an employee of the United States government as part of his or her official duties are in the public domain. This applies to the house.gov portion in question, but not C-SPAN, which is a non-governmental organization. CoolGuy 05:42, 9 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
    • Ok, well we can play that game. Ladies and gentlemen, I present The Mace courtesy of Mr. Bill Livingood, House Sergeant at Arms. --Daysleeper47 05:55, 9 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

History edit

What the heck happened to this article's history? There were about 3 years of history for this article, including a copyright violation in the last 2 weeks that has all but disappeared? --Daysleeper47 19:40, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

The very notorious copyright violation was removed, as can be seen here: [1]. 68.39.174.238 03:41, 5 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Improve tag edit

@Trivialist: I've added a few sources to the article. Are there enough now to remove the tag at the top of the page? PUZZLED🥕|🗣️ 17:47, 16 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Congressional Report edit

I have looked everywhere for a source for the sentence; "Since the members are able to edit the Congressional Record before it goes to print, there is no mention of the actual use of the mace in this capacity." I've tried looking at all results from this Google search, but I can't find anything. The search is further complicated by the existence of someone named George Mace, which the Congressional Record mentions, resulting in a lot of unrelated search results. I'm considering removing this sentence if no one can find any source for it. Puzzledvegetable (talk) 23:54, 22 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Images mirrored? edit

There are two images of the Mace in this article. In one the eagle is looking to the right and in the other to the left. I can't find why this is. Is one of these images mirrored or are there multiples maces? Sj. Hemminga (talk) 11:13, 20 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

August1, 2019 I believe it is a mirror image, the eagle faces to the right. Someone must have pasted the image backward. On the Official site from the government, the eagle faces to the right. Murielschild (talk) 23:57, 1 August 2019 (UTC)MurielschildReply

Picture requested edit

We should add a picture of someone actually holding the mace to give readers some idea of its size. The pictures already on the article do not properly convey its actual proportions. --PuzzledvegetableIs it teatime already? 17:08, 13 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Better photo edit

Can we get a better photo that is in color and has some indication of scale? This one is not very good. DemonDays64 (talk) 07:43, 7 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
