  • descended from its predecessor the MP 38 - what does descended here mean?
It means "to come down from a source; derive". Jonas Vinther • (speak to me!) 14:27, 22 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Schmeisser - any particular reason of calling it by that name when the person was not involved with the gun?
Schmeisser had designed the MP 18 which bared some resemblance to the MP 40. As the MP 18 was well-known to the allied military, the MP 40 was often erroneously referred to as the "Schmeisser". This is explained in better detail in the "Development" section. Jonas Vinther • (speak to me!) 14:27, 22 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • The MP 38 receiver was made of machined steel, but this was a time-consuming - why time consuming, explain
Source does state exactly why, just that it was time-consuming. Sorry! Jonas Vinther • (speak to me!) 14:27, 22 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • the MP 40 was generally reliable - why reliable?
As the article later explains, "the magazine was also sometimes misused as a handhold which could cause the weapon to malfunction when hand pressure on the magazine body caused the magazine lips to move out of the line of feed, since the magazine well did not keep the magazine firmly locked".
