Neuminster Device?

What is a Neuminster Device? - MSTCrow 23:00, 29 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Apparently an exact copy of the British Sten gun built by Germany in small numbers during WWII, if this article is to be believed.--Sus scrofa 23:18, 29 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
The only source I've ever heard speak of it was the History or Military channel. Probably got it from the same twits they always get this stuff from. You're better off standing around in a gun shop and listening to the chatter... progably more accurate. --Nukes4Tots (talk) 03:18, 10 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
This seems similar to the mentioned Gerät Potsdam. I have read from various sources that there were counterfit Sten parts manufactured in Germany, including proof marks etc. The theory is that some german generals wanted additional submachine guns regardless of their craftsmanship standards, especially if they were cheap. On the other hand, Hitler had vowed to the people that the german army would only use the best quality weapons. People like Peiper (sp?) the special operations expert that got Italian Dictator Mousilinni rescued, liked the Sten, and the silenced sten especially. He is said to have fired the silenced version in a garden, behind the back of a famous general, into a potted plant, without the general noticing. Presumably, using British markings on the parts manufactured in Germany, would give the responsible generals plausible denayability, while providing parts for a German Sten and/or the MP 3008 as needed. Note that the MP3008 uses a modified sten bolt, which in this configuration means the cocking handle is on the left, , and the ejection port on top, awkward locations WonderWheeler (talk) 05:50, 22 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
The Gerät Potsdam (Potsdam device or equipment) were intended to be issued to the Werewolves who were going to be operating behind Allied lines wearing Allied uniform, so it was necessary for the weapons not to be easily distinguishable from the genuine ones. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.40.254.32 (talk) 18:25, 9 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
