Deletion edit

I added a link from distrowatch which is a notable English source about MAX. I think this justifies removing the deletion notice The bellman (talk) 04:39, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove the deletion notice until we have an agreeance. You added one English source, this does not justify keeping it.
Distrowatch is a big site covering hundreds of distributions, please add some independent English sources and remove the Spanish ones, i.e. reviews and a site link in English. After all this is the English Wikipedia and something being reputable for Spanish readers is not the same thing as something being reputable to Spanish readers. See notability guidelines to find out more.
Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by EvilKeyboardCat (talkcontribs) 07:29, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
EvilKeyboardCat, you are wrong in every way. If anyone removes a WP:PROD tag then it is against policy to reinstate it, and there is no requirement for sources to be in English. The "English" in "English Wikipedia" is simply the language in which this encyclopedia is written, not a restriction on what sources can be used. Please familiarise yourself a bit more with the way that Wikipedia works before lecturing other editors. Phil Bridger (talk) 21:52, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I though I did AFD, thus creating a deletion debate. Sorry guys! I've just started using twinkle and I though the PROD button was the same thing. Clearly an RTFM case ;-)
On the subject of other language sources, I don't think it is acceptable that all one page are in a language that only a small portion of the readers will understand. I can't seem to find a Wikipedia policy on it and I'm not saying that I have problem with sources being in other languages but I believe that there should be at least a couple of major sources in the the language the article is written.
Otherwise it will be difficult for the readers to verify information. EvilKeyboardCat (talk) 11:52, 27 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
The policy is WP:NONENG. Phil Bridger (talk) 12:54, 27 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
Alright then, how about I send someone from the List of Spanish to English translators a message and ask them if they could translate the relevant bits? We can then provide the relevant translated information inside the ref tags or as footnotes. Although the policy states it is not absolutely necessary to provide a translation it would be helpful to non-Spanish speaking readers. EvilKeyboardCat (talk) 23:29, 27 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
