A bit one-sided

This, for example, is from the BBC News coverage of the Appeal Court ruling that freed them:

"Lord Justice Mantell, Mr Justice Blofeld and Mrs Justice Rafferty said the decision was not a finding of innocence.

Lord Justice Mantell said that in the court's view the case against all three appellants was "formidable", and against Mr Rowe "overwhelming". "

That's important, because it is mentioned again in this article from 2006 about John Reid's intention to stop judges freeing people on "technicalities". 81.159.57.18 02:23, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Still not properly balanced despite the several hours of rewriting I've added. Very difficult because most of the "hard" information comes from the appeal judgement transcript. As it stands, I would like to see more on the rebuttals from the 3 defendants, and the inconsistencies that were thrown up. There were other sightings of the Spitfire reported at 9-10pm, when the 3 had alibis. Also, the jury foreman's "private investigating" should be highlighted as this was pretty crucial in the appeal as noone could be sure how much he had swayed the rest of the jury - or if at all - on the strength of it.
