Expansion

I'm going to do some work over the next few days and see about greatly expanding this article --the history of this college campus is quite unique. I think there's a DYK in here, especially considering its ties to UCLA and CSULA. --Bobak 03:40, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Location

I do not believe LA City College was ever situated on what is now the current UCLA campus (Westwood). According to the LA City College website's history page (http://www.lacitycollege.edu/citymain/aboutlacc/history.html), the college began in 1929. 1929 is also the year that UCLA moved to it's current Westwood location, therefore LA City could not have been there beforehand. To the best of my knowledge, LA City College has never moved from its current location on Vermont.

If you check the UCLA wikipedia article, UCLA was formerly on the site that is now LA City College - "In 1914, the school (UCLA) moved to a new campus on Vermont Avenue (now the site of Los Angeles City College)". This article on LA City College states "The Italian Romanesque campus became what is now the University of California, Los Angeles in 1919" when it would appear to be the other way around - LA City College was started on the what was the old UCLA campus before UCLA moved to Westwood, and the LA City College campus is not Italian Romanesque to my knowledge (that is the UCLA Westwood campus). This article also has a picture of the Westwood UCLA campus, which should be changed to a picture of the true location of LA City College. Hopefully someone can research this further, but from what I can gather on the history of the two colleges I don't believe LA City College ever inhabited the Westwood campus that is now UCLA—Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.251.16.185 (talk) 04:47, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

More pictures please?

Would it be possible for someone in LA to add more pictures of the main buildings?Zigzig20s (talk) 19:05, 11 June 2013 (UTC)

Notable alumni and faculty

Hi. Your LACC alumni list has gotten to the point that it needs to be split it off into its own article. See the following colleges as examples. Corkythehornetfan (talk) 03:18, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
