Calculation of Trajectory edit

"Air pressure, altitude and to some extent humidity" are listed as factors that must be taken into account in calculating ballistics. The problem with this is that they aren't independent. The aerodynamics is influenced by the air pressure and air pressure is determined by altitude, humidity and weather (low or high pressure systems, etc.). I am sure that humidity has no other influence, and generally it is included in measurements of air pressure, so it is irrelevant (unless the barometric pressures being used have been corrected for Relative Humidity prior to being reported). Altitude could also affect the coriolis forces, but I doubt that the difference between the lowest point on Earth and the highest would matter (but I've not done the (trivial) calculation). I also note that coriolis force is strongly dependent on latitude as well as the bullet's direction of travel (forces are different shooting N,S,E, or W). I also note that gravity varies based on the underlying density of the Earth by somewhere between 0.3% and 0.7% (as well as varying with altitude) and that wind may both have density and temperature different than the ambient air. Finally, no mention is made of either dust or precipitation, but both obviously affect ballistics. I'm a bit surprised that ground temperature isn't included, since it will heat overlying air and so indirectly affect the bullet's path. IOW, surface radiative effects. --- The other thing I'll note is that the article doesn't mention that time-of-flight is probably the most important factor since all of the others depend on significant t-o-f to influence ballistics. The listed parameters WILL affect trajectory at shorter distances if the velocity is low (hence have t-o-f similar to Long range shots). So, claiming they can be neglected at short distances is misleading. --- I've also changed "...one must have good shooting skills at the bottom..." to " one must have good shooting skill fundamentals,"Abitslow (talk) 22:57, 19 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
