Long Island - are there two? edit

In the List of islands of Australia in NSW there are two Long Islands, with a note that one no longer exists. I can only find references for one island. Do anyone have any more information on the assumed second one? If it can't be found, I suggest there two records are merged. Stellar (talk) 11:12, 24 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Pretty sure they are one and the same place. The one pretty well described in this article is in the Hawkesbury River and is technically no longer an island because it is connected to the mainland by a railway causeway. It is also arguably within the Sydney region, as our article Sydney defines that as bounded to the north by the Hawkesbury River. The other article says very little except that it subject is in Sydney and is a former island. Have merged and removed templates. -- Starbois (talk) 18:31, 13 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
