In reading the text, it looks to me like the Bloody Nine is perhaps not so much a schizophrenic alter ego but rather a manifestation of a spirit of the other side. We see this possibility in the communication Logen has with spirits and with his enhanced abilities tied to burning fire (also seen in Luthar's abilities in the Contest in the first book - tied to the wizard's tapping the Other Side for power). --173.74.238.39 (talk) 05:07, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
