I suspect that Langabhat just means "long lake". I have a source for the vatn element but not the lang. Ben Mac Dui 18:17, 20 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

You could use Mac an Tàilleir for circumstantial evidence of the lang- element overwhelmingly being "long" but I don't have anything specifically referring to Langabhat I'm afraid. Akerbeltz (talk) 01:04, 27 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

You're welcome - I tweaked it a bit, the whole thing is Norse via Gaelic, including lang which you only get in loans in Gaelic. Akerbeltz (talk) 11:10, 28 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

... "lang" is also Scots, but I doot that wis involved ma'sel. (Although this would mean "I definitely think it was involved myself" in Orcadian.....). Ben Mac Dui 14:29, 28 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
