Terminology
In the US, I have never heard "livery yard." "Livery stable" was the most common term prior to automobiles, as shown by the illustrations, the dictionary and the references. However, the lead suggested that "boarding stable" is the only term used in North America. I lumped all the terms together, since there is no citation to back up which term is used in which country, anyway. I now question whether "(Great Britain, Ireland, North America, Australia)" is needed, since this article is about horse boarding, whether temporary or permanent, in English-speaking countries. Perhaps it should be moved to "horse boarding." The term "boarding stable" is now probably more in use than "livery stable" because people who own a horse frequently have no room to keep one, or no time or inclination for the work keeping a horse involves. Googling "boarding stable" will produce businesses in operation today, "livery stable" will produce history, questions such as "Why is it called a livery stable", and this article.
