Powerviolence (sometimes written as power violence) edit
The first line of the Wikipedia entry on powerviolence reads:
"Powerviolence (sometimes written as power violence)"
Can we please put this parenthetical in this list? I had put in "Powerviolence (also known as power violence)," but someone deleted this edit. Can you please tell me why, when the Wikipedia entry confirms that it is often written as "power violence"? Thanks!
Deletion of Nightcore edit
Why is the style nightcore always being deleted? The style Nightcore is named after the band nightcore (Thomas S Nilsen (a.k.a. DJ TNT) and Steffen Ojala Søderholm (a.k.a. DJ SOS)). This band produced 5 albums in this new style in 2002 and disapeared. Other people liked it and produced remixes in this new style and posted them on youtube. But since there are songs that were directly produced as nightcore, it is wrong to say that nightcore is just a speed edit.[1]. The Band reappeared in 2011 with a new song in the Nightcore style. This is not just a speededit![2] A Nightcore article should be written, but since the style nightcore is beeing deleted, writing an article would be a waste of time! 79.199.204.143 (talk) 13:23, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
- It has been deleted because it doesn't have an article and therefore there is no evidence of notability. I suggest you read WP:NOTE and WP:RELIABLE SOURCES before trying to create one. If you successfully create one by all means come back and add it here, which is a list of notable genres.--SabreBD (talk) 18:27, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
I came to Wikipedia trying to figure what this 'nightcore' genre I keep seeing everywhere is. I get directed to this list of genre's but don't see it. Then I read this talk page. Wikipedia has really dropped the ball. Somebody get this shit fixed, Make a page for nightcore, and put a link to it here damnit. Pathetic. I gave 2 cite notes up there. The first one describes the history of Nightcore and the second one newer developments. here are some other links: urban dictionary[3], Yahoo Answers[4], Another Wiki[5]. Just saying ther is no article, so this doesn't exist is just a lame excuse. - I am sorry but none of those are WP:reliable sources. Please follow the link and read it what it says there. Even if they were, there is no justification for the circular link you keep creating. - Stop accusing me of creating links. I searched for the Nightcore article in wikipedia and got redirected to this list of styles here. I Never created any links in the english wikipedia. - It is not necessary for there to be notability or an extant article in order for an entry in a table such as this one to be justified. There is a style of music called Nightcore. I am one of its fans. There are many nightcore videos on Youtube just look for them.
- You-all have created circular reasoning — no entry in the table will be allowed because there is no article, but no article is allowed because you-all have deleted it many times. Nonetheless, there is such a phenomenon, and in my opinion it is notable. Google gives over three million hits for it. JRSpriggs (talk) 22:15, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
- The guidelines at WP:STAND are very clear: "stand-alone lists are subject to Wikipedia's content policies, such as verifiability, no original research, neutral point of view, and what Wikipedia is not, as well as notability guidelines." So both notability and verifiability do matter here. If you have reliable sources for this genre then it would be a good idea to demonstrate them here.--SabreBD (talk) 23:37, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
