Unnecessary reverting edit

@Bidgee and Rubbish computer:

Hello Wikipedians

I insist that unnecessary reverting and edits must not be made.

For Bidgee:

That requirement does not mean removing SR's that already have an alpha. It's vandalism.

For Rubbish computer:

Doing a constructive edit and reverting it, seriously?

I suggest that you read WP:OR, which is what you are doing. Find a written source from sites such as the NT Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics. Also assume good faith. Bidgee (talk) 08:41, 8 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Bidgee:

Okay, but that doesn't justify you reverting everything.

Thent1234 (talk) 09:35, 8 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

It does, we have WP:NOR. If you think it can be used as a "source", you'll need to go to the noticeboard for review. Bidgee (talk) 09:38, 8 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Thent1234: actually Bidgee is right. You were bold and made some edits which were reverted with edit summaries pointing out that your edits failed the verifiability requirements for Wikipedia. The correct course of action then is to discuss the issue here on the talk page, not re-revert and then throw around aspersions against other editors who question your edits and their lack of RS. See bold, revert, discuss cycle. - Nick Thorne talk 00:50, 9 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Nick Thorne:

But here's the thing:

Google Maps is a reliable source. Only the Google Maps people can edit it, take photos and publish it. It's not like Open Street Maps where anyone can edit it, myself included. Hope that Helps. If DIPL hasn't released a map of all the road routes, how are we supposed to edit it?

Thent1234 (talk) 07:56, 9 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

I guess that you're not all that smart or playing dumb. Google Maps is NOT a reliable source, just like Bing Maps and Apple Maps are not a reliable source. Google Maps can be edited (I have that function as part of my contributing with Google Maps and Street View) and I can add to Street View as well. There will be webpages or press releases on Government sites that talk about changes or new routes, use them or maybe find a book written by a reliable author. It'll come up when edited by a non Google Staff.

Also Nick Thorne

Bidgee decided not to read my entire edit and cut it halfway, which changed some errors and more. (like I forgot to change B6 to A3 when I found out it was signed. I also did some other brush ups. So please don't be lazy and just read the entire edit.

Thenorthernterritory1234 () 08:09, 9 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

The only lazy person is you! You used the level three vandalism warning with a custom message that ignored why I had reverted your edit in the first place (which I read and rightfully reverted) and then you add a message to my warning and in the edit summary label me as a vandal. Bidgee (talk) 03:12, 10 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thent1234, if you really think Google Maps is a reliable source for your edit, take it to the RSN|Reliable Sources Noticeboard and see how you go there. I'll abide by their decision, but will you? - Nick Thorne talk 19:27, 10 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

I've given them a request
