Washington College Presidential Succession

There seems to be an issue regarding the order of succession for Washington College Presidents.

James Clark is identified as the 5th President of Washington College on his official portrait. Clark resigned on July 13, 1852 and James I. Brownson took over as President Pro Tem on that same day (His official portrait labels him "Pro Tem." Brownson served until the September 20, 1853 inauguration of John W. Scott's, who was elected the year before on November 10, 1852. Scott's official portrait labels him the 7th President of Washington College.

It seems unlikely that there really was an official "6th" President of Washington College--Brownson was only President Pro Tem, and there can't be anyone else between Clark and Scott. This seems like a small oversight, so I suggest that we follow what the official portraits say and ignore the numbering problem.--PhiloMcGiffen (talk) 07:45, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

Error in Hinitt reference

There is an error with the heading Frederick W. Hinitt (Pro Tem. 1915-1918), since Hinitt served as full president, not president pro tem. I alerted a clerk in the U. Grant Miller Library via email on June 9. He responded that he would alert the archive staff to correct the error.--GrapedApe (talk) 23:23, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
