editWhat does this mean "in" Vancouver? These people weren't all born in Vancouver. Do they all currently live in Vancouver? -- TheMightyQuill 11:55, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
We need some disambiguation here. There is more than one Vancouver. User:Zoe|(talk) 00:54, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
I think the phrase "in or near Vancouver" could be used. BTW, who is the rascalz? There's nolink to it...and I think it should be removed. Flytrap canada 23:43, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
I'm not sure just how encyclopedic a list like this really is. I did some searching around, and found only one other "List of famous people in <city>" article: List of famous people living or working in Gdańsk is exactly 3 entries long, only one of whom is even still alive. I did, however, find quite a number of "List of famous people from <city>" articles, and a couple "List of famous people raised in <city>" articles. Also, the last line of the article "believed to be" pretty well kills the whole verifiability thing. Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, nor is it a directory, nor is it an indiscriminate collection of information. This article seems to have all three of those properties. — Wwagner 22:35, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
'List of people FROM Vancouver', not near Vancouver. If someone was born in Ladysmith, British Columbia, they should be put as from there. That's like saying that G.W. Bush is Canadian because he's near Canada. >.>;; 24.86.130.7 01:20, 6 April 2007 (UTC)LOLanon24.86.130.7 01:20, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
Nelly Furtardo
editNelly Furtardo is from Victoria, not Vancouver. If she did live in Vancouver, she didn't live here long enough to justify saying she is really from Vancouver. I am removing her from the list. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Raindreamer (talk • contribs) 18:14, 3 March 2007
redlink patrol
editI have removed the following names from the list:
- Katrina Ko was redlinked because of WP:AfD ... see: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Katrina Ko
- Jeff Ladouceur was redlinked because of WP:CSD ... see: Warning: Jeff Ladouceur lacks WP:A to establish WP:BIO
When an article is deleted, be sure to check "What links here" and perform a Redlink Patrol. —68.239.79.82 19:42, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
Although I think this list is interesting, I think it would be much more useful to separate those who were born in Vancouver from those who lived in Vancouver for a time. Just my two cents. CyberEliza (talk) 08:58, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
Stupid List
editThis list is a joke, half of these people aren't from Vancouver or even the Lower Mainland. Seriously how the heck does Richard Gere living part-time in Coquitlam get him on this list? Whats next we're gonna list every famous person that has had a 10+ minute layover at YVR? Canuck85 (talk) 10:50, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
I left out somebody from Vancouver
editDoes anyone here remember Dorothy Stratten? She lived in Vancouver.Saltheshoe (talk) 02:53, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
