I thought George Brown Hillman (Wakefield) 1932 was Labour? I think the last time the Tories won it was 1924. RodCrosby

(Checks The Times guide.) No they took it in 1931 with a majority of 4107 - the Labour majority in 1929 was not spectacular and notionally weak once the Conservative and Liberal votes were pooled. Timrollpickering 23:45, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

I've discovered from constructing the List of (PARTY) MPs articles that the parties listed in the MPs elected in the UK general election... articles have quite a few errors - if I find the time, it'd be good to give them a thorough run over. Warofdreams talk 23:07, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

"East Fife by-election of 1933"

THe Eric Linklater article says: "He stood, unsuccessfully, in the East Fife by-election of 1933 as the National Party of Scotland candidate." There is no mention of such an election here. Is that information just plain wrong? --Mais oui! 10:29, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

No, the section on 1931 - 35 currently lists only by-elections where a seat changed hands. Chances are that the information is correct. Warofdreams talk 21:31, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Oh, yes, ta, I hadn't spotted that inconspicuous "Only seats which changed hands are listed" in among all those bright colours and footnotes! Talking of "bright colours": while I am here, why are the Liberals/Lib Dems shown as yellow on these pages, and the SNP as orange? It should be the other way around! Or, rather, I believe the correct Lib Dem colour is more of a gold. Either way, orange is totally incorrect for the SNP: yellow is their main colour, secondary is a lilac/purple called "heather", and thirdly they use a blue (Pantone 300) a lot too - colour of the saltire. --Mais oui! 00:12, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Ivor Guest's party affiliation is a total mess - as there isn't an article on him I think Talk:Brecon and Radnorshire (UK Parliament constituency)#Ivor Guest party affiliation is the best place for this. Timrollpickering 21:25, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
