Where is Eurypelma californicum?

edit

This is the name used in papers about its haemocyanin. I have seen it called Aphonopelma californicum. Scott Tillinghast, Houston TX (talk) 19:11, 18 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

According to the World Spider Catalog, it's a nomen dubium. The only taxon that survived from it seems to be Aphonopelma steindachneri. --Sarefo (talk) 07:30, 21 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Up to date species list

edit

Here's a recent (as of January 2014) list of species, according to the World Spider Catalog. --Sarefo (talk) 07:25, 21 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

@Sarefo: I think this list (updated for a few even more recent additions) needs to replace this article, which is very poorly sourced. There's no reliable sourcing for all the subfamilies, and the latest research says that most of the families of mygalomorph spiders are doubtful, since they aren't monophyletic, so dividing them into subfamilies is hard to justify at present. Also, where is the sourcing for all the English names in the article? Peter coxhead (talk) 11:30, 11 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
As no references have been provided for the subfamilies, etc. and as the species list is clearly out-of-date, I have updated the article to the World Spider Catalog, as of today. Peter coxhead (talk) 11:24, 7 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Avicularia rickwesti

edit

Avicularia rickwesti needs to be changed to Antillena rickwesti, Antillena category needs to be added according to the 2017 World Spider Catalog. ThatGirlTayler (talk) 21:32, 9 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Done However this is only one of a large number of changes needed, now that the genus Avicularia has been reduced from over 50 species to 12. I've made some changes here and some at Avicularia. More work is needed. Peter coxhead (talk) 15:22, 10 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
