This new list should not include any canon characters already in List of Star Wars characters, especially Force Awakens characters. I'm guessing it was created for this purpose but no one has gotten around to trimming it yet? — TAnthonyTalk 21:12, 10 May 2016 (UTC)

- The tricky part about splitting this list off from List of Star Wars characters is definitely what to do with canon characters who also appear in Legends works (of which there are many). As the lead now notes, I think it makes the most sense that this list be for characters who are only in Legends works. Characters in both continuities should be in the other list, with a sentence explaining "This character also appears in Star Wars Legends works" or "In the Star Wars Legends continuity, this character kills Chewbacca and marries Darth Vader". Or whatever is appropriate for the character ;) — TAnthonyTalk 15:09, 27 July 2016 (UTC)

- Yes, someone split this list of off from List of Star Wars characters but basically just made a copy and changed the lead, and didn't actually eliminate duplicate names from either list,. So it's been an ongoing process in small bits. Another issue I've been coming across is that the redirects for Legends characters still point to List of Star Wars characters. I've been trying to fix those as I come across them like this and also adding {{R from fictional character}} with franchise and sort key.— TAnthonyTalk 19:45, 29 July 2016 (UTC)

- Even though Wookieepedia is not an acceptable source here, I find it to be very useful (and accurate) for certain facts, like what works characters appear in. I've also found useful reliable sources cited there, and information that has led me to usable information on the web. By the way, take a look at what I did here to your 11-4D entry. As long as you're working on the lists, it would be great if you could reference at least one work that makes the character canon or Legends. This way we know what entries have been "checked" and no one will have to research or challenge entries later. Thanks!!— TAnthonyTalk 17:13, 30 July 2016 (UTC)

Some Missing Characters edit
The list includes none of the main characters from Star Wars: Starfighter or Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter. Rhys Dallows, Vana Sage, Nym, Reti, Essara Till, Cavik Toth, Bella, etc. 50.4.168.192 (talk) 21:43, 5 January 2017 (UTC)Klayman 55
