Talk:List of Mini limited editions

I ran (technically I still do but for personal reasons it has largely been inactive since 2007) the Limited Editions Register (see http://www.minilimitededitions.co.uk/for the National MOC from 1997 until the MOC closed. Having reviewed the page there are a number of errors, some of them significant, e.g. the Mini Mayfair was NOT a Limited Edition but was a mainstream/continuous production model!. Additionally I note that the non-factory John Cooper 'Works' conversions have also been included in the sub-page when they were after market conversions by John Cooper Garages and not factory built cars available through the normal dealer chain, unlike the ERA Mini Turbo. Also some factory LEs are missing for example the Japanese market 'Canvastop', which was similar to the British Open Classic but with different paint and trim. Other key information is also missing, e.g. the origin of the 'Studio 2' LE name. I am happy to add as much information as I have, and I will think about how the page can be restructured to retain the John Cooper 'Works' models in their own section. Mini Sprite

What about the 1990s Mini Sprite then, does it not exist? There's hundreds of them about. Why is it missing and why delete references to it when the rest of the article is unreferenced? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.183.128.86 (talk) 08:56, 15 November 2012 (UTC)

I have not yet deleted or edited anything. The 1990s Mini Sprite was not a Special or Limited Edition but a mainstream production model, which is why there are hundreds of them about. It replaced the Mini City. LordMinty (talk) 23:04, 23 November 2012 (UTC)

Notability

This list of Mini "limited editions" does not meet WP notability guidelines. There are no references or credible information how the trivial modifications have influenced any tangible aspect of the vehicle. Rather, this list is a fandom dump of all the marketing efforts to promote the automobile, and that by its nature is not notable in an encyclopedia. Agreed. This is Wikipedia not Wikia. I personally favour a bold deletion and redirect to a section of Mini, but will defer to consensus (if any comes along). --Biker Biker (talk) 19:27, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

British Open Classic

I was under the impression that the the British Open Classic began production in 1991 - not 1992. Also, I thought that in addition to the 1,000 made for the UK market there were 500 made for export to Europe.
