Sig Nu

I think that section can be trimmed way down ... there's no need for a full history on the chapter. Jrssr5 20:36, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Listing old incidents

  • Recently old (over a decade) incidents were listed, with credible references[1][2][3][4]. They were removed as part of a rollback that seems to be tied with the blocking of this original poster.[5][6] A new editor placed them back[7]. Then an anonymous editor removed them[8][9][10][11]. I placed them back[12], as it is my opinion that until some kind of consensus is achieved, it is best to err to the side of Wikipedia's policy about not being censored. • All of this said, I believe that these should be removed. NYCRuss 01:48, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

File:TEpXi haus.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

An image used in this article, File:TEpXi haus.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion for the following reason: All Wikipedia files with unknown copyright status

What should I do?

Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to provide a fair use rationale
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale, then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Deletion Review

To take part in any discussion, or to review a more detailed deletion rationale please visit the relevant image page (File:TEpXi haus.jpg)

New format suggestion

This article had been suggested for deletion due to a number of violations of Wikipedia rules - fluff language, lack of references, original research, peacock language, etc. It was sort of a bad imitation of the Dartmouth list of Greeks, which has a similar bloat problem, even while Dartmouth's was better written. I want to keep the page! To avoid the risk of "speedy deletion", between 12 Jun 2020 and 22 Jun 2020 I did an extensive rewrite of the page, here on its associated Talk page, and today (22 Jun 2020) am replacing it in its entirety on the mainspace (~the article itself) with the new version. --Readers can see what it used to look like if they look at the View History page and scroll down to anything prior to 22 Jun 2020.

At the same time, I will remove a couple of sections below which would be duplicative, now that they are on the mainspace article.

Should you have comments about the new version or old, please insert them here - it's what a Talk page is for.

Interested readers could help by providing a copyright free or freely-licensed photo of these fraternity, sorority or ILG buildings, uploaded to Wikipedia Commons and linked here. Once you post this alert and link, a volunteer editor (me or someone else) will add it to the page with a pop-up label. Makes for nice visual interest.

I'll update this language when the new content is moved over. Jax MN (talk) 18:49, 22 June 2020 (UTC)

BTW, this is done, as of 25 June 2020 Jax MN (talk) 06:09, 30 June 2020 (UTC)

(The mockup I created has been completed and moved to mainspace (replacing the old article itself) See it there, and the old version by reviewing the page history. Jax MN (talk) 15:25, 25 June 2020 (UTC)

Comments on the new format suggestion

The above section is (was) a working scratchpad for a new format suggestion. Please comment here. Jax MN (talk) 14:36, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

The new version of the page, fully revised and with additional content, was moved to the main Article space on 22 Jun 2020. However comments toward improvement are welcome here.
You can see what the OLD version of the page was by clicking here: Old version of the MIT Greek list page.
