Bleach 306?

when does it come out? --user:DavidEGonzalez —Preceding comment was added at 03:33, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Please people!

Please, don't go changing anything on this page (unless you're adding new chapters) without being absolutely sure that what you're changing to is indeed correct. I went to great effort to check every single chapter for the formatting used there to put it down here. -- Ynhockey 07:47, 5 December 2005 (UTC)

I'm frustrated by the continuing efforts by many, many editors here to take out any Japanese, whether it's the correct chapter title or not (as happened again in volume 5 today). I think that somewhere on the page itself we should note exactly what the listings are supposed to represent, or they should be divided into a table of English and Japanese titles. Dekimasu 00:20, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Maybe it would be useful to move the notes section into the introduction to force people to read the correct formatting of the list before they make changes? Dekimasu 00:23, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
This is how it was until someone moved it to the bottom. Maybe there should be a commented-out section saying something like DO NOT MAKE CHANGES TO THIS PAGE BEFORE READING THE NOTES! Not that it will help with most anonymous users, but it may have some efficiency... -- Ynhockey (Talk) 19:20, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

isbn

i'm not going to take it off, but are the isbn numbers really necessary?

It's considered good practice on Wikipedia to have them, yes. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 18:35, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Considered for Deletion?!?!?

o_o;;. Why would this be deleted...? It's not like it has no value. -- LonelyPker 00:05, 1 Sep 2006 (UTC)

The user who nominated the article seems to be a sock puppet, but it would be against WP policy to just remove the AfD notice, so let's just vote to keep the article and get it over with. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 00:09, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
Sock puppet? Of who? WP:POINT nominations are subject to speedy keeping iirc. --tjstrf 00:14, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
No idea, but how likely is it that a completely new user without any previous editing experience, no user or user talk pages, jumps right in into AfD, using Wikilingo terms such as NN and WP:NOT? (see also his other 'contributions'). I'd say something is fishy. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 00:31, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
Definitely worth mentioning on the afd page then. --tjstrf 00:49, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Ch 214

It's still in japanese on the page. I threw イマナント・ゴッド・ブルース into a translator and got イマナント God Blues. Then, when I downloaded the chapter, it was written as "Immanent God Blues" I'm gonna go ahead and change it, kthx.(a minute later D:)-I also noticed other ones are still in kanji or hiragana, I'm gonna try to fix those over the course of a few days! XD --LonelyPker 04:17, 11 October 2006(UTC)

See Ynhockey's comments above... this list is meant to recreate the chapter names exactly as they are shown in the manga, not to translate them. We could break up the page in table form, but the "official" titles in the English translations are often not direct translations of the Japanese titles. Dekimasu 07:03, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
D: sorry. do you want me to take the ones from the english volumes? cause i think thats as close of a translation as your gonna get..=| I dunno. w/e. xD --LonelyPker 03:05, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
"Immanent God BlueS" is the official title of this chapter. Look at this raw scan:
http://img204.imageshack.us/my.php?image=b05qw2.gif
I'm going to change it. (IP user)
That's where I got it from, but noooooo. D: LonelyPker 02:21, 13 October 2006

I believe that when the tankobon come out we use the table of contents of the tankobon, although I haven't been very involved in this project. I could be wrong. I also think that's a lowercase S, but I'll check when I get home. Dekimasu 06:01, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

I don't think the tankōbon ToC should cancel out the original chapter name. As long as no one has enough time to create a table, it can help to write the tankōbon name in brackets (it's been done already on several occasions on this page). -- Ynhockey (Talk) 11:32, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Did anyone notice that grimmjow on the cover looks alot like the main dude from Zombie Powder?--66.231.35.72 06:55, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I did. Actually, I noticed that when Grimmjow first appeared, his jaw looks exactly like Gamma's jaw does underneath the metal cover. --tjstrf talk 07:03, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

(official) english releases

Have any of these chapters been officially translated and released outside of Japan, and if so, would it maybe be helpful to note which ones in the article? Edit- sorry, forgot to signBabybahamut 20:12, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

EDIT again- Never mind. I should pay more attention, I can see it already does. Babybahamut 20:19, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Quotes?

in each of the volumes they have a quote(3rd page) from the character on the cover(I'm guessing it's from them because it has picture of that person at the top of the page in a small box). Do the Japanese have them? or is it just the English ones? I'm only asking because if they do can someone put the rest of them if they can. I only put the ones from the volumes I currently own(1-15)Maigokunshu 03:09, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Good work. But I think we should add the original japanese text to all of them. Maybe in a new page? I'm not so good with wikipedia, so if someone wants to.. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 62.144.83.201 (talk) 07:49, 19 December 2006 (UTC).

Genuine chapters?

Could anyone please verify whether the chapters listed in the page are real? Or maybe they are omake chapters?

  • Volume 10 Chapter 88.5. KARAKURA SUPER HEROES
  • Volume 12 Chapter 0.8. a wonderful error
  • Volume 15 Chapter -17. 逸れゆく星々の為の前奏曲
  • Volume 20 -12.5. 寒月に咲く

리지강.wa.aus 17:21, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

These are omake chapters. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 18:38, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for confirming. I just found it weird that the chapter numbers have -17 or -12.5 리지강.wa.au 01:27, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
They are omake AND they have numbers. Just a stylish thing by the author. Lord Air 01:08, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
There are omake chapters listed, but Bleach chapter -15 is missing (In between 303 and 304) and it is a real chapter --robev (talk) 02:49, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

Table format

I made a table formatted version of this at User:Someguy0830/Sandbox. I'm not entirely happy with how some of it spaced out so I'll leave it here for others to check. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 05:37, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Very nicely done, presentation is excellent. I would support your table version. 리지강.wa.au 06:55, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
One problem: The biggest reason to convert to a table format would be to permit the listing of English title meanings alongside the katakana titled ones. For some reason, your table does not incorporate that. Add in the translated name cell, and you've got an excellent table. --tjstrf talk 06:58, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
I didn't see the original titles listed so it didn't come to mind. Voila! Now supported. The names probably aren't arranged correctly, but that's a minor detail. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 07:21, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
I've given the page a re-look again. Maybe you could colspan=3 for the chapter titles, and colspan=2 for the ISBN, cover character and Tagline information. The focus in on the name of the chapters, so I think more space should be given to them. Could I also suggest that maybe the chapter names, ISBN, cover character and Tagline information be a smaller font? Maybe 90%? It does look rather crowded as it is now. 리지강.wa.au 09:25, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Done. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 18:19, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

German-Problems

258. ゼールシュナイダー (literally means 'Seele Schneider' which is Soul Cutter in German.) < Seele Schneider is incorrect German. We germans call it 'Seelenschneider' Who thinks that correct german would be nice.. please edit it I won't do it 'cause well.. it's the Wikipedia of the native english speakers.

you should really sign your comments >_> it's Seele Schnider from the hiragana so that's how it'll be put down on wikipedia (ReshenKusaga 23:48, 5 March 2007 (UTC))

American chapters and Table formatting

I just added the first three American manga volume covers. I will be adding all the American covers soon. These are and will all be high quality (800x1200) scans.

I could only figure out how to add the American cover right under the original Japanese one, but I was wondering if we could/should put the covers side-by-side? It seems there is a lot of room width-wise, so I believe it would be better if they were side-by-side, but I want to know what more seasoned wiki'ers think.

Thanks. Grbrock 05:19, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Add summary of chapters?

Would it be useful to add short chapter summaries? I could write them; I have all the chapters and an abundance of time. Grbrock 03:11, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

EDIT: Actually, chapters might be cluttering, but maybe volume summaries...? Grbrock 03:12, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Fair use images

The use of images not in compliance with our fair-use criteria or our policy on nonfree content is not appropriate, and the images have been removed. Please do not restore them. -Mask? 08:39, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Then I suppose it's time to write some critical commentary. Anyone up for volume summaries, or shall we just move them to the individual character articles? --tjstrf talk 08:53, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Individual articles on each chapter, complete with plot summaries would probably be the best choice, as those can be expanded out to reach the level of commentary most are comfortable with, but putting it in this list would be rather cramped, long, and unwieldy :) -Mask? 08:57, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Individual articles on every single chapter? Good lord no. That's two hundred and seventy seven articles right there, with another hundred or more not unlikely. --tjstrf talk 09:04, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
If theres enough content on it, no problem. List of South Park episodes has links to individual articles on every episode, 160 so far and no sign of stopping. -Mask? 09:13, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
lol, I take it you don't read manga. Suffice it to say that individual Bleach chapters are nowhere near as controversial or significant as South Park episodes. --tjstrf talk 09:19, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Go by volume. Less work and easy to compile. — Someguy0830 (T | C) 09:22, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
I dont read manga, but the list was a list of chapters, so I assumed it was the default division :) Do it by book then. -Mask? 09:24, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
So, what are you waiting for then?

0 side-A the sand and 0 side-B the rotator

These two prequel chapters were also published in volume 23, in addition to being in the SOULS(side-a) and VIBES(side-b) databooks, so I'm adding it in...Jutari 16:24, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

I have seen these chapters myself, and they certainly look legit. If I remember right, the content from The Rotator was used in the anime as well. The [jp:BLEACH|Japanese Wikipedia] listed these two chapters

0.side-A the sand (BLEACH OFFICIAL CHARACTER BOOK SOUL's、単行本23巻) 0.side-B the rotator (BLEACH OFFICIAL ANIMATION BOOK VIBE's、単行本23巻)

The Japanese part saying "tankobon volume 23".

I will be adding these two chapters to Volume 23. As for the pilot chapter, it was drawn by Kubo Tite, but it's considered non-canon I think, so I don't think we need to put it in either. 리지강.wa.au 21:09, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

In terms of the pilot, a brief mention of some of the more drastic divergences from the Bleach of today might be warranted, though perhaps not necessarily in this article. ~SnapperTo 02:21, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Viz Media release date of volume 22

According to SimonSays.com volume 22 will be releases in March 2008. If this is true then it also means Bleach will no longer be bimonthly. I'm predicting Bleach might switch over to the American Shônen JUMP because it has been revealed that a new title would be joining the magizine soon.

Chapter 284

The word "historia" can mean either history or story, I think story is more appropriate in this situation. Anyone opposed to me changing it?Dabarnes 23:08, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

It's a flashback chapter, history makes far more sense. --tjstrf talk 23:11, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

What to do with this list

Given that cleanup is definitely in order for this list, how are we going to split it, as the inevitable inclusion of plot summaries to each volume will make it liable for splitting under WP:SIZE? List of Naruto chapters was split into List of Naruto chapters (Part I) and List of Naruto chapters (Part II), as this was a logical break, but here, all we have to go on are the arcs, and making seven or so chapter lists would be excessive and unnecessary. Any ideas? In any case, this list needs to be formatted more like List of Naruto chapters (Part I), which recently acquired featured list status. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 00:58, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

I propose keeping the article as it is and making a separate article for each volume in order to include plot summaries. Individual volume articles can also have much of the real-world information lacking in Bleach-related articles. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 05:49, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
I worry about the individual notability of each book under WP:BK, but I suppose that could work. If someone developed a possible draft of what one of these volumes would look like, then we could make a more substantiated decision. I just think that even taken on a volume-to-volume basis, information will ultimately be sparse. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 06:09, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Maybe we should do arc to arc? For example, volume 1-8 is the beginning arc, we have an article for that and the other 3 arcs (Soul Society, Arrancar & Hueco Mundo) so we avoid merging due to notibility and at the same time information won't we that sparse.---Hanaichi 09:24, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Since I'm not fond of having more articles than is necessary, I'd suggest that the first twenty volumes be considered one "arc"; they are an introduction to the shinigami and a build up to the main villain of the series. All volumes from that point onwards would be the second "arc", as they deal with the primary enemy (the arrancar) and could consist of the remainder series (assuming the winter war will start relatively soon and be the final event). Probably not the most practical of methods given the inconsistency it would create with the anime lists, but I think it could work. ~SnapperTo 21:03, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
We need the cover of each volume, maybe we need to write the history of each volume.--Mastercomputerpro9999 12:52, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
The covers should not be included per WP:NFCC, as they would be merely decorative, and not compliant with fair use. Plot summaries (see List of Naruto chapters (Part I)) would ultimately be included. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 12:55, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Chapters?

What chapters have the 4 manga popularity polls? Should we post them? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.185.61.205 (talk) 23:09, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

If I recall correctly the 4th contest was in chapter 205. That's off the top of my head though, so it may be wrong. --erachima talk 00:04, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Summary?

Who here thinks it would be a good idea to have a summary for each volume? I know that the List of Fullmetal Alchemist chapters and the List of Naruto Chapters pages have them. 75.105.128.39 (talk) 21:43, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

The only reason there aren't any volume summaries is probably because no one has taken the time to write them yet. If you want to give it a try, go ahead. —Dinoguy1000 16:28, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

If chapter descriptiopns were added we may also want to restore the chapter images as they will not be the bulk of the article and will illustrate a significant block of text. Honestly, it doesn't appear that there was any discussion of their removal to begin with. Stargate70 (talk) 16:51, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

No. Those images completely and totally violate WP:NONFREE which is why they were removed without discussion. That is not a very negotiable policy. Additionally, the images would just bloat the page and make it slow loading. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 17:00, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Omake chapter 'Bleach at the Beach'.

I'm not sure what the policy is on omake chapters, but should this be given a mention? Some scanlations have been floating around the place... I don't know what chapter it's in, some say it's 88.5, but 'KARAKURA SUPER HEROES' is that number. Here's what it looks like:[1]. Cheers to those who can help me out.- Paper-Fan (talk) 11:40, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

List format

Why are the poems for each volume included here? They don't add any substance to the article, and considering the length of them, would appear to be borderline WP:COPYVIO. Also, the titles being in all caps seems to be unnecessary and against the MoS. I know that's how some were printed, but it makes the list a little visually hard on the eyes, and not as easy to read. Are more of the chapter titles in English in the original, or has just no one added in the Japanese titles? -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 15:30, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Most chapters are originally in English. Kanji should be present for all that aren't. ~SnapperTo 18:02, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
Cool beans. As for the poems, as no one has voiced any support or given any argument for why they are included I have removed them. They are no different from the quotes often found opening regular novels, and not a notable aspect of each volume to include here. Also, I feel they could be considered in violation of WP:NONFREE as such quotes, at times quite lengthy, do not add any compelling value to the list nor are they necessary for understanding the volume/chapter information. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 20:54, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

B-Class assessment Prep

I have completed my copyedits on all of the chapter summaries (whew that was time consuming!). So, we should be fairly close to being able to submit for B-Class and FL assessments. Any thoughts on other changes that need to be made before the submission?----–m.f (tc) 00:05, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

For B, I think it should be about there. For FL, the lead needs a little tweaking so its about the chapters of Bleach rather than being similar to the lead in the main article. See some of the most recent FL and FLCs for examples. The "Chapters not yet in tankōbon format" is confusing with the chapters with negative numbers? -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 01:40, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
We had an explanation of the negative chapters time ago but we didnt have a citation for that.Tintor2 (talk) 01:43, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Okay...but what was the explanation? Are they actually chapters within the series that are included in the various volumes, or are the extras, or what? -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 01:50, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Those negative chapters are sometimes related with the volumes, they are released in the weekly shonen jump like every chapter. The one from vol 32 was just made to promote the second film telling the story from Hitsugaya. The Turn Back The Pendulum are some kind of gaiden that in the end it seems some characters were thinking of that before a fight.Tintor2 (talk) 01:54, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
All the negative-number chapters are flashbacks or happen before the start of the series. The timeframe corresponds roughly with their numbering, but that will probably need sourcing. Ch -17 highlights Kira, Renji, and Hinamori's time in the shinigami academy, and is when Aizen first meets them.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pentasyllabic (talkcontribs) 20:53, November 8, 2008

Nope, it applies to talk page discussions as well (and user pages). One should not link to copyvio material, or post it, anywhere. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 21:07, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

So how should it be explained?Tintor2 (talk) 14:37, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Maybe adding a note above the volume list?Tintor2 (talk) 16:33, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
I'd guess so, something simple and maybe splitting them from the other lists? Are the negative chapters always being included in the volumes, or only selectively? -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 16:52, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Yes they are added. Volumes 17 and 32 have a negative chapter at the end.Tintor2 (talk) 16:55, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
I mean are they always added, and are they added in the same order as the rest. Have some been skipped, for example, or left out of volumes where they might be expected to be included? -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 16:58, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Until now, all have been added.Tintor2 (talk) 17:01, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Alrighty. I tweaked the note and moved it to the lead, since it is applicable to the whole list :) -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 17:07, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

It looks good, but I heard comments in copy-edit that it is not good to have short paragraphs. Maybe we could mix it with one above.Tintor2 (talk) 17:10, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

By the way, did the format of dates changed?Tintor2 (talk) 17:11, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
I think in this case its fine since its more of a note than an actual paragraph. And yes, they went and turned off the date linking of cite web per the whole delinking of dates thing, but no one bothered to fix the template so it still formatted ISO dates correctly, so having to manually go in and change them all. *sigh* -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 17:13, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
It must really bother to make the changes manually.Tintor2 (talk) 17:15, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Fortunately Lightmouse's script helps, but would be so much better if they had done this change in a more organized fashion, with a bot ready to go through and update all templates first. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 17:19, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

I've given the lead a copyedit, but did so without regard to the PR or any comments here, and it wouldn't hurt for someone else to give it a once-over as well. In particular, I have reservations about the plot summary, which actually only covers the first few volumes. —Dinoguy1000 19:43, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Do you refer to give a sentence about Aizen in the first sentence?Tintor2 (talk) 19:46, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
Well, I'd like to give a basic rundown of the plot up to now (which would by necessity include a mention of Aizen), but I'm not sure how best to synthesize all that information down to less than a paragraph in length. =P Anyone else care to take a crack at it? —Dinoguy1000 21:03, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

What about the negative chapters? There is no source for that.Tintor2 (talk) 21:52, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

They should be self-referential; anyone who reads them would know what they are. But if that doesn't work, the first page of -108 basically outlines what negative chapters are. ~SnapperTo 22:59, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
Ok. Added hidden message.Tintor2 (talk) 01:34, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Tankobon links

Isnt the word tankobon linked too many times? It is used in several volumes, and I think we should use the tankobon names for the chapters. Regards.Tintor2 (talk) 22:01, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Looks like the linking has already been fixed. I would agree on the chapter names. Since the list is organized by volume, they should use those names, with a footnote noting that in serialization, the name was x. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 19:46, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Wanna try a peer review?

I was interested in requesting a peer review to know what fixes it may require. Do you agree?Tintor2 (talk) 19:42, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Sounds good to me. I know one comment I would make myself would be that the chapter names should be using proper casing instead of this mixed up mix of all uppers and all lowers. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 19:47, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
