Talk:List of bishops in the Church of Nigeria in 2000

Suitable topic? edit

I added a PROD with rationale "Arbitrary topic for an article. Articles like Anglican Diocese of Calabar should have a list of their bishops, and I can understand how a list of current bishops would be helpful. I don't see how a list of bishops in 2000 is necessary (other than that is what one primary-source list provides).", and @Oculi: removed it, saying they are adding sources. I'm not disputing that sources exist to show who the bishops are, I'm disputing that this is the right way to organize the encyclopedia. (power~enwiki, π, ν) 00:13, 23 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

The problem is that it is difficult to complete a list of bishops for Calabar (just one of 161 Anglican dioceses in 2021), and the name of the bishop in 2000 is useful and may lead to the one before. I would agree that in due course this list could be removed, eg when the redlinks have articles. (At present Anglican Diocese of Calabar only lists the incumbent bishop.) In my experience with other churches, it's generally "easy" to find news coverage of succession events to build up per-diocese articles. I won't AFD this until all the bishops listed have articles, but will likely suggest some kind of merge/delete once that is the case. User:力 (power~enwiki, π, ν) 17:22, 23 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
