I feel the Lin Sing Association is an organization of both great importance to the East Coast Chinese community and significance in the history of Chinese Americans. The Lin Sing Association is the umbrella organization of virtually all the Guangdong district associations except for Taishan, and the Fukien American Association. Chinese Americans from Guangdong made up the vast majority of the Chinese American population during the early years and to this day still form a large proportion of Chinese Americans. Furthermore, the New York Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association's leadership is rotated between the Lin Sing and the Ning Yung (Taishan) every two years. The Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association was the most influential Chinese American organization in America for many years and still remains very influential to this day. The Lin Sing serves as "one half" of the leadership of the New York Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Contributor168 (talkcontribs) 3:08, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
