What if the reference has now a different name?

edit

Hi! I have taken some references from Laurence Whitfield's own website www.whitfield-net.de , the first art school he attended was at the time called 'The Manchester Regional College of Art' this has been highlighted in red as not existing. The full name nowadays is; 'Manchester School of Art, Faculty of Art and Design, Manchester Metropolitan University' Should I refer to it by its present name? personally I feel the name it was when he attended it would be the most appropriate. Similarly, the sculpture symposium at Kostanjavica was at the time in Yugoslavia, which no longer exists, can I say 'Yugoslavia', or should it be Slovenia - which it now is? Thank you.
