Article title edit

I don't think the term currency is an accurate disambiguator, as it's more a form of coinage than a regulated currency system. Most sources appear to call it lat money, and I think that would be a more natural title per WP:NATURALDIS. --Paul_012 (talk) 16:03, 15 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Paul_012 I’m fine with changing title to Lat (money) although there is a Latvian Lats which complicates naming. I’m not sure if there is a formal difference between “money” and “currency” other than money being a more general abstract term. On the regulation side- the weights and mint marks indicates some standards were in use but don’t have to argue that. Lat (coinage) could also work- I was trying to avoid separate articles given the fact there are at least three types of lat, and hoi is included as one of the three. Thanks for loading the picture! --StampyElephant (talk) 16:35, 15 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Would you also be okay with Lat money without the brackets? I do think they're not quite necessary here, and this form reflects the most common usage in sources. --Paul_012 (talk) 17:09, 15 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Observation edit

On Hoi or “tiger tongue” coins I’ve noticed that their shape and form really look like the dentin on an Asian elephant tooth- there are very few books on this subject but I haven’t seen any reference which noticed this similarity if there is one. It would make a lot of sense if there was some connection.--StampyElephant (talk) 18:19, 15 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
