("The Madrilene movement")
editI very much doubt that "Madrilene" is a real English word ...except as a kind of soup. -- Picapica 21:42, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
- It is indeed a soup (not a gentilicio). Should we move this to la movida madrileña (no caps)? Wiki Wikardo 04:42, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
- I think the correct gentilice is "Madrilenian". Also, I don't know why Héroes del Silencio is listed in the Movida bands. They appeared in the late eighties in Zaragoza.--213.37.101.235 (talk) 13:22, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
New Wave?
editis this a kind of spanish New Wave? 84.151.236.101 23:59, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
- It is a sort of New Wave or after-punk.
- I understand that the real english word would be madrilian — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.44.35.8 (talk) 22:15, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
Translation of "movida"
editI think that "movement" is an incomplete translation for "movida"; "action" (as in "Where's the action in this city?") would be slightly more accurate; but it also has connotations of "movement". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.37.195.29 (talk) 11:55, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- Movida may mean "issue", with movement connotations, something like "the center of action". It's hard to translate.--87.218.21.60 (talk) 11:07, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Good input from Mar bells87, pity it is not really in English! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Megustalastrufas (talk • contribs) 15:00, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
"La movida" wasn't a movement of any style in particular. No new wave or afterpunk. There were many many different styles from Punk to New Romantic, to rockabilly, techno, hard rock, goth, glam.... so no. It wasn't new wave or after-punk. And "movida" means "happening" (noun) that's what it was. And seriously, I don't see any point in editing or writing anything as always comes someone to change things. So, that's it. The funniest thing is that people who wasn't there, sometimes weren't even born at that time, correct and erase what the ones who were there a know what was all about had written. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ossopunk (talk • contribs) 02:57, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
Namedropping laundry list
editThis article tends to look rather much like a namedropping laundry list, which doesn't tell much to a layman reader. It would be good if someone could add some more substance to the article, or write some proper articles about the artists and magazines etc. that's linked. 惑乱 Wakuran (talk) 13:19, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
Whatever I write something on wiki is always erased by someone who thinks knows better, and giving NO REASONS whatosoever for doing so, so from my point of view there's no point in doing or editing anything to be honest. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ossopunk (talk • contribs) 02:47, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
It's Zombies, not "Los" Zombies; osopunk
editHi, I wanted to comment that the Bbnd called Zombies, of my friend Bernardo Bonezzi and Tesa Herranz, it wasn't called "Los" Zombies. And that osopunk was a band that existed before any of the others and altough they do not have recordings their concerts with Tos (later (Secretos), Bacilo de Koch (later Mamá) with Zombies , Kaka deLuxe... etc were for the people who were there, vital in the development of the "movida". Everytime that I try to put things right there are a couple of persons who consider that the Wiki is theirs... and consider anything that is not written by then "vandalism"... I wonder if they were there in Madrid between 1977 and 1984... That's all. Thanks. --Ossopunk (talk) 19:40, 16 May 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ossopunk (talk • contribs) 19:37, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
- No complains about the Zombies - Los Zombies thing. But Wikipedia is not a primary source, and is never to be edited by the people the articles refer to, so leave the osopunk thing alone. Besides, the band list is already way too long; it should be trimmed, rather than expanded.--Gorpik (talk) 07:39, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
