[See this amazing link...it shows how some of the people in Kolwezi are members of the Greek Orthodox Faith and how they have actually learned the Greek language. This is truly beautiful and inspiring. It is the Holy Spirit at work!!!!

I am in Kolwezi now, 23rd of Jun 2014, and I already spent several months in this city.
Life is OK, the prices are a little bit high, because there are lot of "Muzungu" in this city, lot of mining companies. It is the most developed city in Katanga province after Lubumbashi.
During my interactions with people they seemed to be calm and peacefully, no problem to walk alone in the street, far safer than in Kinshasa. The Katanga province is the most developed in the entire DRC. The climate is colder than the rest of the country for the altitude (~1,500 m.) Not so many mosquitoes, thus the malaria incidence is reduced. The local people they are usually artisan miners. They dig for minerals in the surrounding areas and sell the minerals to different mining companies. The local infrastructure is lasting from the Belgian time, but the locals are not able to maintain it. The local GECAMINES Company is using the same old technology. The Railways SNCC Company suffer of bankruptcy, there is one running train per month for the passengers. The water in the area is not really a problem, but the quality of this water it is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.215.254.65 (talk) 06:58, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
