Possible Minor Change of Constituency Name in 2005
edit[1] is a link to The Parliamentary Constituencies (Scotland) Order 2005 on an official government website. This is the legal instrument which gives effect to the Boundary Commission for Scotland's fifth general review and defines the current Scottish UK Parliamentary constituencies.
The Order spells 'Loudoun' as 'Loudon'. If that spelling is the same in the official hardcopy version of the order then that is part of the official title of the constituency even if it is a spelling mistake and not an accepted variation in spelling. I do not have any local knowledge of the area, so I am unable to say which option is correct.
If 'Loudoun' is the only accepted spelling in the area, then the discrepancy I have identified may not matter much, but I will do a re-direct from 'Kilmarnock and Loudon (UK Parliament constituency)' to avoid anyone working from the name in the order being comfused in the future. --Gary J 12:59, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
