How does 'Khandallah' translate to "resting place of god"; there is a 'Khandela' in India and Khan/Khand/Dallah/Allah all translate, but to my understanding the current spelling points to "King of the coffee pot" as a valid translation. Book_M (talk) August 2008

Being once a native of Bombay, I am more familiar with Khandala, a hill station that has an army cantonment nearby and was spelt 'Khandallah' in the British days. 'Khand' in Marathi and Sanskrit refers to a land division[1]. The large cantonment at Poona (as Pune was known then) was not far away, so soldiers would have stopped en route to Bombay. I am surprised to read that the Wellington suburb was named after an obscure town in Rajasthan that was named after an ancient king and does not particularly mean something.[2]. It was not noted as a British army cantonment.

To do list

edit
  • Add parks to facilities section.
  • Add section on churches - I think there are at least 2, but used to be three there
  • Rationalize the intro to the article. It was originally the entire article, but now with it being extended, bits are out of place or no longer relevant.
  • Consider adding section on the village, shops etc.
  • Add section on enrollment zones to the education section
  • Add section on pre-schools
  • Add section on sports / sporting groups. There are a number that operate out of Narinvile park
  • Photo of the Village
  • Photo of a park or swimming pool
  • Photo of Narinvile park
  • Photo of Khandallah from the water tower.
  • Add information about community groups that run out of the town hall
  • Add some history. There used to be a fire station at one end of the Village.
