Possible bias edit

it seems strange that instead of saying something like "used for meat," this article repeatedly says things like killing the ewes and eating their flesh. What is the standard on Wikipedia for referring to human consumption of animals? I suspect it is less graphic than the wording used in this article —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ertw1357 (talkcontribs) 00:37, 23 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia isn't censored for taste, if that's what you mean. And we aren't supposed to be trying to make things be appetizing by avoiding mentioning frankly the fact that Karakul sheep are slaughtered for eating, that's part of our neutrality policy, and being a reference work. However, meat isn't the only thing Karakul sheep are kept for, by any means. If you want to make the article more balanced between the different uses for the breed, that's a great idea. You were right about it being a little excessive, I've edited it accordingly. I think the person who wrote it didn't have very strong English. VanTucky 00:52, 23 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Darkness? edit

"The lambs must be under three days old when they are killed, or they will lose their black color..." But then: "Dark colors are dominant and lambs often darken in color as they age."

So they start off black and then get darker? What, sort of ultrablack? AuntFlo (talk) 03:41, 12 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Photograph edit

The article's current image is poor. It is requested that a better image or photograph be included in this article to improve its quality. Coycan (talk) 22:58, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I've replaced the photo with a better one. It still isn't the best photo ever, but it at least has wool in this photo. Zell Faze (talk) 04:04, 19 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
