Other KUFO stations

Should the section about the other KUFO station from Texas be moved to a different article? --Katt 10:42, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I would say so. KUFO should be about the Oregon station, then a disambiguation page and more pages for the old stations. Eleland 18:46, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Crystal Kash, Tim Savage, and Kristine Levine

I have talked to Crystal Kash, and she is upset that she keeps getting deleted. She is on here right now, but who knows what will happen. On another point, Tim Savage and Kristine Levine were released by KUFO, and that should be mentioned here as well, by someone with official info! Crystal is the only female DJ on the station, but not the only female voice. Ann DeWig's voice can be heard on KUFO, doing the stations legal ID, and bumpers.65.183.198.226 01:13, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

Re-added Crystal Kash

Had to add Kash again, some chuckle-head keeps deleting her. I'd like to see if we can get this locked up! 65.183.198.226 03:46, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Stop deleting personalities

Please stop deleting Crystal Kash from the personalities. She is a real person who does work from 12A-5A. Even though there appears to be users who think she is recorded, and therefore keep deleting her in the thought that she is not real. I will continue to replace her every time she is deleted, and I am currently lobbying Wikipedia to get protection placed on this article. 71.59.179.114 14:10, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Crystal Cash

Crystal is not listed on the KUFO website as a personality, nor is she listed on any schedule. Therefore, she should NOT be listed among the other full-time air talent. Note that the other part-timers, Frank The Human Tri-pod & Buzz are also not listed in this article. Officially, these three are fill-in staff without a set shift and are not recognized by CBS as anything other than that.

...and you fail at life. Crystal does in fact have a set air shift from 12 AM to 5 AM Monday thru Friday. It is true that Frank and Buzz are not on here, but we might as well add them. They have both been with KUFO for some time, as has Crystal.

Crystal Kash edit war

Okay kids, this dispute needs grown-up intervention. Information on Wikipedia must be verifiable. What you need to do is find a reliable, published source which says that Crystal Kash is a "personality" on the radio station. Failing that, leave it off.

Since I'm such a nice guy, I'll call Fatboy some time, explain that KUFO has earned its place in the annals of Wikipedia history through your tireless efforts, and try and get a statement one way or the other posted on their blog/podcast. That could be a reliable published source at least on this matter.

Eleland 22:14, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Read: Verifiable

I agree. If KUFO doesn't list Crystal on the website or the schedule after a years time, there must be something to it. When Tim Savage departed, the website and schedule were updated almost instantly. Do you suppose they just forgot to add Crystal when they were making changes? My guess is KUFO isn't ready to attach their name to her "talent" yet. Every company has their own policy regarding where the line is drawn between talent and staff, and I think it's been made clear where that line is in this case. If we add Crystal, should we also list all of the Board Operators? Promotions Team? Producers? Sales People? Where is the line drawn?

Crystal Kash as Air Staff

Crystal Kash is listed on the current KUFO website as having the overnight shift. If you look under the Staff heading and click Staff Pages on www.kufo.com, you'll see her as listed as midnight to 6am. Both Frank and Buzz are listed as weekenders. And Lisa Wood is not even on there. So what I am wondering is, why Lisa, who has one hour a week, is up as a full time air staff then, unless this is a personal attack on Crystal?

Furthermore, KUFO is currently doing an entire revamp of their website. When the new KUFO site comes out and Crystal Kash is on it, would that be a VERIFIABLE resource? (Even though she IS currently on the kufo site in it's current state?)

I work at KUFO

and i know Crystal but not personally. She is not a real dj thats why not listed on the webpage her show is recorded 50% of the time. i think she's just trying to add herself as an boost of her ego. i read her whining on myspace so decided to check it out. keep her off

YOU WORK AT KUFO? really? i find that hard to believe because if you DID you would know Crystal Kash is live 6 days a week and VT'ed only one day. Call the Music Director, the PD, fuck call her at 3 am. And unless you worked in sales, you would know Crystal personally. The staff (jocks, promo people, producers) all know one another.

Re-added Crystal with proper citation

Kash is listed as air staff on the KUFO website, alongside and the promotional copy pasted to every single page says that "rock music and rockin’ personalities have come together as one. With the addition of the all new Adam Carolla Show in mornings, followed by Bozyk in middays, the Marconi Show in afternoon drive, Cort & Fatboy in the evening and Crystal Kash at night, KUFO is tipping the personality scale on its ear!"

In other news, it would appear, based on Kash's myspace page, that the editor adding her in the first place is a sock-puppet of a blocked user. Lovely. Eleland 01:36, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

What is the basis for listing Kash as "part-time staff"? If she's on the air live 30 hours a week I don't really see how she could be a part-timer. The KUFO website lists her on every single page as a "personality", in the same breath as Carolla, Bozyk, Marconi, C&F, so I'm moving her back to main personalities section. Eleland 16:24, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Also please do not copy-and-paste advertising copy. Puffery is unencyclopedic and POV. Eleland 16:51, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

copy and paste

please sight YOUR source for the cut and paste comment. Nothing was.

With over 10 years market experience, including time spent at KNRK during its heyday, Buzz dominates the weekend slot at KUFO with his wit and dry sense of humor. A pro on the phones, Buzz molests your ears with "the funny" every Saturday and Sunday. His wide range of cartoon voices and zany characters make him a stand-out member of the KUFO team.

Frank The Human Tripod is the second part-time gun in the KUFO talent arsenal. Frank KNOWS the music. And Frank KNOWS radio. 20 years in the business will do that to you. After leaving Eastern Washington, Frank came to Portland with a banjo on his knee and a tripod in his pants. The rest, as they say, is history. Frank has been with KUFO since 1996.

again please sight a reference, ANY reference, to where this may have been copy and pasted from?

I'm sorry, I simply assumed it was advertising copy based on its style. Whether it's copied-and-pasted or not is irrelevant, information should never be presented in this style on an encyclopedia. I mean, "Buzz molests your ears", "Frank KNOWS the music"? How could these statements possibly be verifiable? What do they even mean? And have you ever read an encyclopedia article which addresses the reader as "you"? Eleland 02:05, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Conflict of interest

Several of the edits being made on this page are originating from CBS IP addresses, specifically posts regarding Crystal Kash. This constitutes a conflict of interest as outlined in the wikipedia guidelines.

That's very interesting. Insofar as they are simply restoring the sourced and factual information which you keep removing without justification, they're doing nothing wrong. You, on the other hand, are a persistent and obnoxious vandal who should go away. Eleland 17:19, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Something that should be said about the list of personalities

They are not allowed, since WP:NOT#DIR. They also fail WP:NOTABLE and are also a possible copyright violation. I'm tempted to remove the one in this article, as I have in others, since it is not encyclopedic. See also this discussion on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Radio Stations page. In the meantime, I have tagged the article. I am hesitant to simply delete as of yet, given the heated discussion here.--Fightingirish 23:32, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Individual elements of an article are not required to pass notability requirements. Lists of facts are not copyrightable without some kind of novel and unique aspect. Sorting by time/date is not novel or unique. This has been tested in court (phone-book companies actually...). In any case, I can see your point about WP:NOT applying to "Schedule" as it does seem unencyclopedic, but the prose list under "Personalities" seems quite relevant and important when discussing this type of subject. ---J.S (T/C/WRE) 15:24, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
Perhaps the question should be asked, why is it so important to have the schedule on this article anyway? Isn't CBS doing a good enough job maintaining it on their site? It makes absolutely no sense to have it in the article, especially when it seems like the people putting it in are station employees. The purpose of this article is not to be a personal ego trip or vanity project. And its even more idiotic to have such ridiculous edit wars over it. You all do realize that this talk page is featured here, don't you?
In closing, I recommend that anyone editing this article take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Radio Stations, to see what we're doing to help improve these articles. Let's make this a page everyone can be proud of, instead of the bathroom wall it is now. --Fightingirish 15:56, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I added us to WP:LAME. However, the edit-warring here is related to an individual (or maybe a clique) pursuing some whacky personal vendetta against a radio DJ, not to encyclopedic standards. Calling this page a "bathroom wall" is a little much; it needs better independent sources and some cleanup, but so do about 1.95 million other articles. I don't know why we're apparently so keen on deleting schedules (yes, I read the policy, but I can't for the life of me understand the motivation behind it, besides the Wikipedian's vague insecurity about being "encycopedic"), but fine, kill the schedule box. There's no reason to lose the personalities section that I can discern. <eleland/talkedits> 16:39, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
How do you even discuss a radio station without discussing the people who are the most important element of the station's public image? ---J.S (T/C/WRE) 19:04, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
