Comments edit

  • KTRG-TV broadcast some local productions – considering it was almost 60 years ago, shouldn't it be in past tense?
    • that is past-tense
      • Oh, silly me, you are right.
  • the station were feeling a financial squeeze – it would appear "feeling the squeeze" is an idiom, discouraged per MOS:WTW.
    • Reworded
  • Perhaps, the first instance of "duopoly" should be wiki-linked?
    • Done
  • what had been KFVE's building prior to the 1993 LMA – I don't think "LMA" abbreviation is explained anywhere in the article.
    • Reworded
  • said the SSA would – I believe this sentence is missing "he" in the beginning.
    • Fixed
  • Just to confirm: seemingly inconsistent italics on "Hawaii News Now" is on purpose, as you alternate between the newscast and the organization?
    • Yes
  • Refs 50 and 67 have "work" parameter, which is not supported by {{cite book}}.
    • Changed
  • Ref 87 was a dead link. I boldly added an archive link, but make sure it's the correct one.
    • Yes

Spot checks edit

As the references here look equally important to me, I let fate decide which ones are worth checking.

  • 5 – confirms FCC granted Kaiser construction permit  Y
  • 25 – the reference confirms that KTRG-TV goes on air as KIKU-TV  Y
  • 29 – confirmed KIKU-TV started testing color telecasting in 1969  Y
  • 48, 49 – the dates and the names of the islands check out, the previous owner of KHBC-TV indeed sold it.  Y
  • 54 – KHNL indeed started providing programming to KFVE  Y
  • 80 – this particular source appears to be a dead link and the version available on the Internet Archive is pay-walled. Other refs in there do support this paragraph, though.  Y
    • They broke all these old links. It's now [1].
  • 91 – confirmed poaching of KITV's anchor Dan Cooke  Y
  • 102 – confirmed KHNL dropped its sports segment and lost both of the remaining sportscasters  Y
  • 115 – the spreadsheet does list KHNL's K32IX-D station in Lihue  Y

The article is well-written (minus a few typos), prose is clear and concise. Apart from a single use of an idiom mentioned above, the article follows all the MoS guidelines listed in GA criteria. It contains no original research, everything is cited using reliable sources (with the nominator even providing clippings for newspapers, which is not required). It contains no copyvio, quotes are properly attributed. The article is broad and neutral. Images used are properly licensed and contain suitable captions where appropriate.
