Copy changes edit

Lead edit

  • Written by Jackson and Dallas Austin, while produced by the latter Maybe Written by Jackson and Dallas Austin and produced by the latter
  • following a leak ahead of its scheduled release, causing Maybe "which caused" — this sentence has a lot of commas.
  • "Just a Little While" is a pop, dance and new wave song, which lyrically showcases Jackson's "signature fashion" Drop the comma after "new wave"
    • Is the serial comma omission intended? I see it used elsewhere in this page.
  • despite being most added and played song on radio following its release missing "the" after "being"
  • Internationally, it was more successful, reaching the top 10 in Canada and Spain, and the top 20 in Australia and the United Kingdom. Remove the last comma
  • The singer embarked on a promotional tour to promote "Just a Little While" and Damita Jo, performed the song on several television shows including Top of the Pops, Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, and Hey! Hey! Hey! Music Champ. Try "performing"

Recording edit

  • Written by Jackson and the producer himself, it was produced by the latter Of course the producer produced this. Reword.
  • "Just a Little While" was mixed by Kevin "KD" Davis at Charlice Recording in Los Angeles, while mastered by Brian "Big Bass" Gardner at Bernie Grundman Mastering in Hollywood, along with all tracks present on Damita Jo.
    • Try "...in Los Angeles and mastered..."
  • Musically, "Just a Little While" is a pop, dance and new wave song, which "combines frenetic breaks, elements of '80s new wave guitars, and keyboards". Comma unneeded.
  • highlighting its keyboards which resembles "resemble" or "resembled", not "resembles"
  • were resemblant of Very similar to the preceding sentence and awkwardly worded.
  • resolves that lest her unyielding sex drive be a distraction Resolves what? Consider a reword

Critical reception edit

  • adding that "it is likely to hang around the charts and our heads for a while" maybe adding that it was "likely to hang around the charts and our heads for a while"
  • "a little bit out of place. Not that the song isn’t good, it just doesn’t fit with previous tracks". Another place where a logical quote ender tucks the period in the quote for the full sentence.
  • escribed as a "serious backfire" by Idolator's Anthony Miccio, he thought that Austin was trying to put Jackson's "breathy voice over a guitar riff Pink probably rejected", and wrote... Remove the comma after the quote. User:Sammi Brie/Commas in sentences (CinS) The part after the comma has the same subject: "he".

Commercial performance edit

  • Its airplay increased over 500% in contrast to airplays before its official release, and achieved "sizeable" downloads. Remove comma (CinS)
  • the week dated February 21, 2004 on the Needs an MOS:DATECOMMA
  • owned by Viacom and CBS, including subsidiaries Clear Channel Communications, Infinity Broadcasting, and MTV Clear Channel was not a subsidiary of Viacom. Reword to owned by Viacom and CBS, including subsidiaries Infinity Broadcasting, and MTV, and Clear Channel Communications
  • 38th most downloaded maybe 38th most-downloaded
  • In Denmark, the song entered the national charts at number 17, but charted for a sole week. and In France, it debuted at its peak of number 72, and spent five weeks on the chart. Remove comma (CinS)

Music video edit

  • it had initially been scheduled to premiere on VH1 and BET the week of March 8, 2004, but it did not take place. maybe but this did not take place

Performance edit

  • The singer appeared at Hit Machine in France should be "on" (you perform on a TV program, not at one), and the title should be italicized. I made these changes since I also inserted an interlanguage link here.
  • Don't italicize MSN Music.
I followed the Wikipedia entry for this website where it is italicized, but I can remove it if you want Alex reach me! 19:28, 26 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Charts edit

  • The listing for Spain (Promusicae) should read Spain (AFYVE), linking to the same article. The organization changed its name on January 1, 2005, after the release of this song. [1]

Spot checks edit

There is an issue at source 18.

  • 7: Jimmy Jam is hopeful that Jackson will be able to release a single before the end of the year. Maybe "Although Jam was hopeful" instead of "said".  Y
  • 8: "She told me shes gotten it off the Net and gave me the address " and 78 stations across the US were playing the song! We stopped that then found out the next morning that all of Europe had it. So we were like, theres not much we can do at this point."  Y
  • 18: I assume this is the genre classification? I would not use it. WP:ALLMUSIC: Editors also advise against using AllMusic's genre classifications from the website's sidebar.
It's not taken from the site's sidebar, but from the review Alex reach me! 19:30, 26 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
That is indeed right.  Y
  • 19: They even rushed the first single, a playful new-wave song called Just a Little While, to radio the day after the Super Bowl.  Y
  • 23: Yahoo Music review. Its keyboards even wink back at her 1990 masterpiece, "Love Will Never Do". and this has a fun, loose production that smells a little like the eighties  Y
  • 39: MusicOMH review. Not that the song isn’t good, it just doesn’t fit with previous tracks. Nonetheless it isn’t a bad way to close an album.  Y
  • 47: Front-page blurb on the song being most added in CHR/Pop.  Y
  • 60: Spanish chart summary: peaked at sixth, ran four weeks.  Y
  • 90: Assuming good faith on the liner notes.
  • 99: Top 40 Tipparade chart with Just A Little While in third position.  Y
  • 111: Fnac entry for the release in metropolitan France.  Y

Earwig flags the various attributed quotes but no other passages.
