improvements needed

based on what is generally accepted here, an article about a journal should contain:

  1. earlier & other titles, with dates
  2. Standard abbreviations used--make redirects from them.
  3. publishing & sponsoring body, as well as earlier publishers & sponsors
  4. availability on line
  5. availability open access, if relevant, with any limitations.
  6. frequency of publication
  7. no. of articles published a year
  8. circulation (sourced somewhere--default place to get it is Ulrichs)
  9. Name of the editors-in-chief, (but only the eds. in chief) with their institutional affiliations -- include earlier ones also. Make a link for them even if they do not yet have an article.
  10. A list of the major indexing services that cover it -- in particular Web of Science and Scopus--just current major ones.
  11. latest year's impact factor if available, and rank in the JCR field. Include the year so it can be updated.
  12. any actual references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases.
  13. a list of the 3 or 4 most influential articles similarly, getting citation figures from Web of Science.

It should not contain

  1. general information about the company: this belongs only in the article on the company.
  2. Repetition of the name of the publisher or the journal. Once each is enough.
  3. A list of everyone the editorial board
  4. names of the staff, except editor in chief
  5. Information on pricing.
  6. vague promotional statements about how useful it is for people in the relevant profession
  7. a list of all the possible subjects covered, unless it is not reasonably obvious from the title
  8. adjectives of praise
  9. and, most important, it must contain no text from the web page description of the journal. This is a copyright violation, and needs to be rewritten. Even if you are prepared to donate copyright according to WP:DCM, it is likely to be unsuitably promotional.

If I can give you any help with this, let me know. I'm an administrator here, and one of the people here who deal extensively with academic journals. (you can see my background from my user page).
