Is in resident evil extinction yes or no? edit

.......

If you're talking about Sienna Guillory coming back in Resident Evil: Extinction as Jill Valentine then the answer is no. It has already been confirmed through Sienna's interview from Empire magazine that the offer was bad timing and she had a busy schedule.

http://www.empireonline.com/interviews_and_events/interview.asp?IID=612

The interview is old but at least it shows Sienna herself actually saying that she couldn't be there. Then again who knows? There's a possibility that she might be coming back in Resident Evil: Extinction as Jill Valentine when she's free from doing other things. Until then let's just leave the part about her not reprising her role in Resident Evil: Extinction. Eikichi 00 18:28, 15 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rumors edit

Please, whoever is adding a rumor about Jill Valentine appearing in the end of Resident Evil: Extinction needs to stop. Wikipedia isn't a place for adding rumors. Eikichi 00 13:57, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

What is the name of the song Jill plays on the Piano? edit

I like that song... anyone remember the name of it?

It's Piano Sonata No. 14 in C sharp minor by Ludwig Van Beethoven, more commonly known as the Moonlight Sonata .

Statistics edit

Where is the information such as height, weight, DOB, etc. coming from? Looking through my copy of the RE3 booklet, it says she's 5ft 4in, as opposed to 5ft 5in and 108lbs, not 110. Now I don't mind people gaining a little weight, that's believable, but people don't usually grow another inch when they're 23 years of age or older, esp. women. Is this info coming from the remake of the original (I haven't played in a while)? But that would still be misleading since the remake comes before RE3, so the info in RE3 is more up-to-date and is thus the preferable source. Also, can anyone explain what "B&A specialist" means? A far as I know she's always been referred to as a "machine specialist"--Mad Max 03:13, 15 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Uh, no, REmake would be the updated source. Anyhow, information from Capcoms Biohazard Archives (which you should buy): 5ft 4in, 110lbs, blood b, age 23. B&A Specialist = Bomb and something specialist, cant remember the last one.Parjay 14:13, 15 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Actually it would make no sense to say that the remake is Jill's most recent appearance, not if we're going to follow the story linearly the way it was meant. The remake was only made for two reasons a) sales, and b) because the director "liked" the original the best (actually just for more sales). Since the remake is just that, a remake, none of her statistics were changed for the remake and are based entirely on the original. Thus, I have no idea why we’re talking about the remake in the first place; it isn’t relevant. I was simply arguing that since the mansion incident comes before RE3, and that RE3 comes after the mansion incident, logically RE3 is Jill’s most recent appearance in a legitimate RE game which isn’t a remake. Agreed?
Secondly, we have two sources here that are legitimate, but which is more legitimate than the other is for us to decide. We have the RE3 booklet that comes with the game and you pull out of the jewel case, and we have Capcom's Biohazard Archives. So far her height, age, and blood type are the same in both. Her weight is different be a mere two pounds; that's so insignificant it has to be an error of some sort. A far as her job goes in previous games she’s been described as a "machine expert" although in the remake she’s a bomb expert as well. Obviously this is Capcom’s attempt at broadening her area of expertise. In this case, the remake is the preferable source. Oh, and since we agree on at least several points, why is her height still listed as being "5 ft 5 in"? --Mad Max 21:01, 15 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
"Actually it would make no sense to say that the remake is Jill's most recent appearance, not if we're going to follow the story linearly the way it was meant." Linearly doesn't enter into it - her latest design is in REmake not RE3; just like how Chris' REmake design has been carried over in the RE5 trailer. If we were to follow your rationale, Jill is completely changed from RE1 original to 3. The latest redesign is REmake - and thats canon.
"The remake was only made for two reasons a) sales, and b) because the director "liked" the original the best (actually just for more sales)." Not true, the games were considered failures. And the reason RE was remade was to change the foundation storyline.
"Her weight is different be a mere two pounds; that's so insignificant it has to be an error of some sort," Nope.
"A far as her job goes in previous games she’s been described as a "machine expert" although in the remake she’s a bomb expert as well." We already knew her as a bomb expert from her Delta Force training.
"why is her height still listed as being "5 ft 5 in"? " Obviously because no-one's bothered changing it. Parjay 22:01, 15 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I'll buy into your idea that her weight was changed by two pounds for a meaningful reason. Either way, the difference is so little it makes practically no difference anyway so I'm not going to spend anymore time on that issue. I didn’t change her weight because I wasn’t sure if you agreed with me and didn’t want to see my edit reverted. That’s why asked, I was hoping you’d take the initiative. Since you still didn’t bother to do I’ll go ahead and fix it myself. --Mad Max 22:34, 15 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
One other thing, where exactly did you buy Capcom's "Biohazard Archives"? Is it in Japanese? I've looked around and can't find anything by Capcom, the closest thing to that title is "Resident Evil Archives" which is by Brady Games, not Capcom, so I don't want to buy it since it isn't official. --Mad Max 22:57, 15 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
It's the same thing, Brady didn't write (or translate), they simply published the translation over here. Parjay 00:50, 16 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Okay, thanks for clearing that up. --Mad Max 01:47, 16 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

{{General CVG character}} edit

This article is currently a testbed for a unified computer/video game character infobox, {{General CVG character}}. It uses a series-specific subbox, {{Resident Evil characterbox}}.

Input on this infobox would be appreciated; note that the addition of things that would be obvious to readers unfamiliar with Resident Evil (such as what series is involved and the series' creator) is intentional. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 04:35, 18 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm going to test this in Leon S. Kennedy as well. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 06:39, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

pic from Umbrella Chronicles? edit

I think that someone should put the picture of her from Umbrella Chronicles on Jill's page, what do you think? (by th way, I may have accidently posted 2 topics like this, if so, delete that one.

Una Kavanagh ? edit

A creditable source for the claim that Una Kavanagh plays Jill in RE1? xaozon 08:02, 3 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Never been able to find confirmation, I don't think it's true. Her bio says she was at uni in Ireland, around the time of RE1, can't see her going to Japan to act in a videogame. ParjayTalk 16:12, 3 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

These rumors originated on IMDb.

I remember according to an old interview with Shinji Mikami (I think it's lost when the site hosting it went down), the actress was a high school girl. He mentions difficulty working with her, as she frequently complained about mosquitoes biting her during the intro's filming on the Tama River.

I can't get a positive face identification, but even if I could, it wouldn't exactly help (case in point, woman claiming to be Czar Nicholas' daughter). In all fairness, it has been eleven or so years since the filming of the scenes, so it's obvious the actress has aged. I'm not throwing out the possibility, but I am questioning the validity.

I have contacted Una Kavanagh's representative company (listed on her IMDb resume), but I've yet to receive a response. Perhaps if we send emails to the address listed, we could get an official statement or response regarding the issue. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Groar! UPDATE from Groar!: I found the interview. http://www.rehorror.net/thirdeye06/m_f_interview.php

Hopefully they'll reply, it'll be interesting to see how it turns out. I still can't see her in the role, in the interview Mikami said she was a high-school kid and I can't see Kavanagh being so young as that in 1996. (Remember, if you do get a reply that she isn't Jill, you can't add information as such to the article as it constitutes original research; just remove the credit and you should also update imdb to remove the credit also). The RE1 actress was credited only as Inehz, but that's all I know. Spartan198 (talk) 14:21, 24 May 2008 (UTC) Spartan198Reply

Another video game parody?? edit

In the video game super gem fighter mini mix the character "Chun LI" has a simple combo that has a Jill resident evil reference. The first attack is a knife slash followed by a hand gun shot barrage then is led into a rocket launcher shot.

Some people suggesting that this article about Jill should be deleted?? edit

What the... Even some ghosts in Harry Pottter get an article each, and you people tried to delete this? What's wrong? Shrine Maiden (talk) 03:59, 22 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'd tend to agree with you. I've seen lesser characters than Jill Valentine with individual articles Spartan198 (talk) 14:20, 24 May 2008 (UTC) Spartan198Reply

Editing edit

Doesn't it make sense to use a more recent picture or at least a more regognisable one? I was also thinking it might be a better idea to have a seperate section for each of Jill's in-game appearances so that it can go into more detail. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.109.57.249 (talk) 22:46, 31 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I agree, there are far more modern and recognisable pictures of Jill. I think one from RE: Remake, Umbrella Chronicles or RE5 would be better. I also agree that the page could do with including a bit more detail. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.168.177.250 (talk) 13:47, 14 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I also agree, that old RE3 render of Jill in her RE1 gear should just be replaced by her updated RE1 Remake render. It's silly to have it otherwise. Also a photo of her from RE5 in her BSAA gear would be nice too. If it's allowed, someone should add sections detailing her experiences in each game and get into detail about her character as well. 23 September 2009

I added a "by who" to the assertion that she's considered one of the most attractive women in video games and also edited the statement to make it less redundant. Before it called her a "female woman." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.16.117.2 (talk) 23:07, 19 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Why was she given her own page? edit

    • Most of the character actually have a page before, including Claire, Ada, Leon etc. but some idiot just freaking deleted them coz its a "waste of space".--79.78.13.69 (talk) 02:31, 13 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
They weren't being "a freaking idiot", the pages only had RE World info on them which can easily be placed on one page with a list of characters. If you can find real world info sources (character design, reception of character and so on) then you can expand it and they can have their own page. It's possible Chris and Wesker could have their own page if someone worked on it, maybe even Leon could. But the rest would have to stay since there's not much real world info on them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Earisu (talkcontribs) 16:18, 26 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Actually, if no one minds, I've decided to change her main picture with one more recognizable.

Hair edit

I keep trying to mention Jill's hair change in RE5, but some bastard keeps reverting it. Quit it!!!--Xasitchaine (talk) 03:34, 2 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

This edit? It's trivia, it's original research (WP:OR) unsupported by a reliable source (WP:RS), and Wikipedia doesn't allow personal attacks (WP:NPA), for any reason. Geoff B (talk) 12:44, 2 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Play the game if you don't believe me. --Xasitchaine (talk) 22:56, 3 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Her hair definitely is blonde in RE5. Also, can someone add a spoiler tag to this article? It basically spoils the entire ending of RE5 (not that it's hard to guess while playing..) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.231.188.74 (talk) 08:09, 21 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Alright, enough. Add in a reliable source featuring the apparent blonde hair Jill developed in Resident Evil 5. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.32.65.177 (talk) 16:13, 13 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

[1]That is a file in Resident Evil 5 stating how and why Jill has a paler complexion and blonde hair in the game. Though that pale skin and blonde hair isn't permanent which is good. In RE6 she will be a brunette again. 10:09, 23 September 2009

Image edit

This was discussed a bit below a while ago but does anyone have a more recent image of Jill that is copyrighted properly, as it would be good to show how Jill looks more recently, since the only image included is very old and she looks very different now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.109.27.239 (talk) 16:56, 6 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

We include images based on their quality, not how new they are. The image currently used may be old, but it is a clear visual depiction of the character as well as a consistent design for the character. The image of her in RE5 has her looking away, her face obscured, etc. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 18:53, 6 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Of course, I agree that any images used should be clear and good quality. However, what I was saying is that it would be good to include a more recent picture as well as the one already on the page. I think this since most people reading a page are looking for more information and are therefore unfamiliar with the subject, so people may think Jill still looks this way now, which isn't true. More importantly, it would show the evolution of her characters design and would tick off one of the matters on the to-do-list for this page, which says to include pictures to illustrate the points made and one of the points made is Jill's design evolution. Hope I made sense! 88.109.27.239 (talk) 21:31, 6 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well, perhaps. It is a pretty unique deviation from the original image. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 03:27, 7 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I think it's a good idea to include an old and a new image to show the development of Jill's character design. 88.110.63.26 (talk) 22:39, 8 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

There's plenty of images and renders over on her article at Resident Evil wikia. If you're looking for an alternative image, I suggest you look there. http://residentevil.wikia.com/Jill_Valentine 86.41.37.178 (talk) 00:36, 9 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

The RE5 image is now very outdated itself, we should use an image from Resident Evil: Revelations, as it's jill in a more recognisable brunette form, and it's the latest RE game. Colliric (talk) 23:12, 5 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Jill Valentine is dead. edit

Or rather, she isn't, but Avaloan thinks she is. See this edit where Avaloan mistakes a speculative piece for a statement. A piece done well before RE5 was released, so the writer had no way of knowing whether she was dead or alive. And she's alive at the end of RE5, if Avaloan would bother to google it. Help me convince him. Geoff B (talk) 21:03, 14 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Jill is alive and well by the end of Resi 5. There's in-game dialog that can be quoted to back this up and official wlkthroughs created by IGN and GS staff editors. Perhaps he means something else? --StarScream107 (talk) 01:06, 15 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
