Erroneous deletion edit

This article was previously deleted with the assertion that there was "No community at this location... nor... was there ever." (see article deletion note immediately below)

"12:48, 21 December 2020 Explicit talk contribs deleted page Jericho, Utah (Expired PROD, concern was: Article is false: No community as this location, nor was there ever. Notability not established with substantive sources to pass WP:GEOLAND2) (thank)"

Furthermore, it appears that part of this claim was based on Jericho not being found in a search of the United States Geological Survey's (USGS) Geographic Names Information System (GNIS). (Due to the dead link, it is not possible to confirm this.) However, Jericho does appear in the GNIS and has since at least December 1979.[1] While the GNIS is not, in and of itself, considered an entirely reliable source, any allegation that Jericho is not sufficiently notable enough to be included in the GNIS is incorrect.

The current article itself indicates why the original article should not have been deleted, but improved upon instead. An Errant Knight (talk) 20:11, 25 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
