Rate Attribute Review Comment
1. Well-written:
1a. the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct.
1b. it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation.
2. Verifiable with no original research:
2a. it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline.
2b. reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose).
2c. it contains no original research.
3. Broad in its coverage:
3a. it addresses the main aspects of the topic.
3b. it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style).
  4. Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each.
  5. Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute.
6. Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio:
6a. media are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content.
6b. media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions.
  7. Overall assessment. Promoted. All points addressed, well done. Peacemaker67 (send... over) 14:00, 27 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Comments.

  • There are several duplicate links, light cruiser, fighter (aircraft), Ise-class battleship, casemate and a couple to List_of_Japanese_World_War_II_radar#Shipborne_Radar.
    • All fixed except for the radar links which reference the same list for three different radars.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 07:00, 27 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • image files need alt text (not a GA requirement, but worth doing if this is going to ACR))
  • all tool checks come up green (no action required).
  • suggest you leave the reason why she was named that to the second sentence of the lead, it's a bit clunky as it is.
  • "Yamashiro was also given torpedo bulges to improve her underwater protection and to compensate for the weight of the additional armor and her stern was lengthened by 7.62 metres (25.0 ft)." Suggest a comma after armor.
    • Broken out into a separate sentence. Dank may want to comment on this.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 07:00, 27 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • "The improvements made during the reconstruction increased Yamashiro's draught by 1 metre (3 ft 3 in); the two foremost six-inch guns were removed, as the same guns on her sister ship Fusō had gotten soaked after that ship's reconstruction. " It is not clear why being soaked would be bad? "Too exposed in rough seas"?
  • were the "Alf" floatplanes radio-controlled or radio-equipped?
  • Suggest "The submarine USS Halibut missed Junyo but hit Yamashiro with a torpedo that failed to detonate on 8 November." be "On 8 November, the submarine USS Halibut missed Junyo but hit Yamashiro with a torpedo that failed to detonate."

    • Rephrased, but again, Dank might have some thoughts so don't promote this until he's had a chance to comment. Thanks for the review.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 07:00, 27 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
