Review

Lead

• "After bombarding American forces on the atoll, the carriers were attacked by aircraft from Midway Atoll...": the repeated use of atoll is a little jarring. Suggestion: After bombarding American forces on Midway atoll, the carriers were attacked by aircraft from the island, as well as fighters from the carriers..."

Design

• Second paragraph of Flight Deck and Hangers section; there are two very slightly different conversions to feet for 11.5 metres.

Construction and service

• Launch and commissioning dates in this section are inconsistent with the infobox.
• "...the other ultimately claimed to have hit the battleship California.": delete the words "to have hit"?
• "Norwegian cargo ship "Norviken"": the name needs to be italicised.

Midway

• This sentence is from the 3rd paragraph: "Unknown to the Japanese, the US Navy had divined the Japanese MI plan from signals intelligence and had prepared an ambush using its three available carriers, positioned northeast of Midway." It effectively repeats the last sentence of the 1st paragraph.
• The "struck" date in this section is different to that in the infobox.
