Seaport
editI'm just going to disagree with the red linking of the port on the Jacmel article here. There is no significant reason to red link the port as it there is no information pertaining to it that warrants linking of an article. The "port" is a non-commercial area that really consists of a single concrete pier which tourist vessels and other small ships can dock their vessels for short stays. World Port Source defines the port as a harbour and I don't believe that this warrants creating a separate page. Any information pertaining to the port in Jacmel could be added to current article or removed outright. Jacmel is not a port city by definition it is a tourist town with a small airport and an even smaller port. Thoughts? Krazytea (talk) 07:35, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
- According to Haitian Coast Guard article, the seaport is also home to a former navy base, now a coast guard base, which should make it notable enough to pass muster. 76.66.192.206 (talk) 07:59, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
City or Town
editThe intro uses both words repeatedly. Do we know what signifies city status in Haiti? --Pontificalibus (talk) 23:03, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
New article for Earthquake events
editI think we need to move a large chunk of the earthquake events in Jacmel into a new article, most of the information there is non-essential toward the city but pertaining more towards the day by day (if not hour by hour) events of what is going on in the town. I think it's getting far too cluttered and becoming more of it's own article. I don't think we need to move it to 2010 in Jacmel but rather the effects of the Earthquake Krazytea (talk) 23:41, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

- @Krazytea, @Tiggerjay, that section should have really of been merged in 2010 Haiti earthquake. Savvyjack23 (talk) 04:47, 7 May 2016 (UTC)

"Pétion and other mulatto leaders subsequently went into exile in France."
editPretty sure "mulatto" is a slur? Can this at least have a citation. CrickedBack (talk) 21:26, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
