Lead - You state that made the superior of a Jesuit retreat center, what's the rank of superior signify?

Superior is basically what it sounds like. It's just the name of the person in charge of a given institution, if that institution's head doesn't have a different title. So, it's generally used for smaller institutions, rather than colleges, churches, etc. Ergo Sum 14:24, 7 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Ancestry This is a bit of a tangent, but a "surprise siege" doesn't seem to be consistent with how sieges generally tend to work, and the stub article over the battle gives no context. This isn't a GA pass/fail thing, but is there a word you could use besides "surprise"? Again, this is acceptable in a GA, so this is just more of a question.

Removed the word "surprise". Ergo Sum 14:25, 7 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

There's a genealogical table here. I'm not sure if this is consistent with WP:NOTGENEALOGY or not. The previous couple paragraphs are about his relations to notable relatives, which makes sense but I'm not sure about the table of just names with no context here, especially when a lot of these figures aren't particularly important.

Unfortunately, I think you're right. That table took a while to make, but I've removed it. Ergo Sum 14:27, 7 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Construction "He also made improvements to Gaston Hall,[28] and began work on Riggs Library.[29] and Richards improved the university's astronomical observatory," - There's several things wrong here grammatically, I'll let you sort out the ungrammatical sentence break how you want to.

Cleaned it up. Ergo Sum 14:29, 7 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

"His presidency came to an end on July 3, 1898,[30] after experiencing worsening health for two years,[31] and was succeeded by John D. Whitney" - Maybe "and he" in the last clause, it feels awkward as is.

Done. Ergo Sum 14:29, 7 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Anti-Catholicism in the Ivy League - "the College of thee Holy Cross" - I feel like thee is probably a typo here.

Fixed. Ergo Sum 14:30, 7 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Later years You mention superior again, but we still aren't informed of what this role signifies.

Hopefully my above comment clarified a bit. Ergo Sum 14:30, 7 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

References - Should ref 21, the "Letter from the Rector" have some sort of parameter indicating that it's from the Internet Archive?

Done. Ergo Sum 14:31, 7 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Ref 19, the Bender book, needs an author parameter in the citation.

Ref 19 is the Woodstock Letters reference. There is no individual author attributed to the article. Ergo Sum 14:33, 7 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
It looks like you were referring to ref 18. I've fixed it. Ergo Sum 14:35, 7 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

The citations all appear to be from reliable sources, and the images are all public domain in the US. There's some copy edit issues, and a term whose meaning isn't clear, but overall this is really close to GA-status. Ergo Sum, placing on hold now. Hog Farm (talk) 05:02, 7 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Hog Farm: Thank you for your review. Ergo Sum 14:33, 7 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
Ergo Sum - Passing for GA status now. Hog Farm (talk) 00:04, 8 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
