Not Floating?

The article talks about research to make the bar not float, but the sources indicate this was a temporary advertising gimmick applied to a small number of bars. Adam Cuerden (talk) 17:13, 11 January 2013 (UTC)

99 44/100% pure

"99 44/100 % pure" = 56/100% contaminated. That's more than one part in 200!!! Lee M 13:24, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I always wondered why the idiots didn't round the fraction. 44/100 = 11/25 21:27, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

The 44/100 isn't reduced (or rounded) because it is part of a percentage and is being expressed as a decimal rather than a fraction. In other words, the soap is 99.44% pure. Thomprod (talk) 00:24, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

but it is not being expressed as a decimal, as opposed to a fraction. 0.44 is a decimal. 99.44 is a decimal. 44/100 is a fraction. If they wanted to express it as a decimal they should have either said "ninety-nine point four four percent" pure something, or "zero point nine nine four four" pure something. That something would be soap, because they called it "Ivory soap," but indeed they should have said "pure soap," because the word "pure" is an adjective, and adjectives modify a noun. If you don't state the noun, the listener cannot ascertain what noun the speaker wants the adjective to modify.Nomenclator (talk) 12:51, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
