    The main reference is dead. Also when I try to get any of the Wayne County maps from here they all come up 404 error. Also, how do you use the mapping tool to determine mileage on the hgihway, I was having issues determining this.

    Is there no additional history that can be dredged up? I mean Utah State Route 103 manages to have more history and its less than a quarter mile long.

Some preliminary comments:

  1. Where would suggest that content be moved? To the RD?
  2. I can e-mail the PDFs of the Control Section Atlas to others because I've downloaded them all, but it's not that terribly uncommon for MDOT to do maintenance on their servers which make the atlas temporarily unavailable in electronic format. (MDOT does print the atlas as well.)

    To determine information off the PRFA, find the highway in question. Search for the Road Name and enter "I-375" as the Route. A set of search results for different control sections will appear. Click "Map it" and a map of that section will load. From there, you can pan and zoom to change the view as needed. Click on the "PR/CS Info" tool and then click on a road segment. A box will appear and the roadway segment will be highlighted. The BMP (beginning mile post, blue circle) and EMP (ending mile post, red square) will be listed, as well as the mile of the clicked point (green cross). Repeating that and doing any necessary arithmetic is how to determine the mileposts along any state highway in Michigan. (MPs reset at county lines, and sometimes at intermediate locations or concurrency termini.)
  3. Well, we usually have excluded routine maintenance to a roadway from the history. There's not going to be much more that's citable to reliable sources. Any Detroit News archives only date back to 1999. Now, unless we're going to accept the Michigan Highways website as an exception to WP:SPS because Chris Bessert has been quoted several times in Matt Helm's Detroit Free Press columns. Additionally, librarians at the Grand Rapids Public Library, the LIbrary of Michigan and officials at MDOT all point me to the website when I've requested information. Dr. LeRoy Barnett, retired Chief Archivist for the State of Michigan, has also used the site as a source in his book, A Drive Down Memory Lane: The Named State and Federal Highways of Michigan. There is some minor additional information in that book that can be added, including a second source to reference an opening date. (The book discusses all of the Chrysler Freeway, not just the section that is I-375.)

Re: to preliminary comments:

  1. Yeah I would suggest adding it to the RD as we are talking about the route. Maybe in a separate paragraph however. Also, re: comprehensiveness, might mention AADT and being on the NHS as its an Interstate highway. --Admrboltz (talk) 21:40, 13 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Let me rephrase, the online archives for the DN are only back to 1999. It's not in the Wayback Machine. I've e-mailed AASHTO, but of course being a Saturday, I can't expect any answer from them for a few days at least. The problem with the book is that its entry on the Chrysler Freeway omits any mention of I-375. (Actually it doesn't directly mention I-75 either except to use the I-75 marker at the bottom of the page.) Imzadi 1979  21:56, 13 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
