FYI - found a reference on the 1904 Berlin conference - [1]. It's actually one of a series of articles - search for the author.Smkolins (talk) 00:39, 26 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

References edit

I noticed a number of references using the url to a Google Book link. I though editors might be interested in a tool which takes a link as input and creates a (usually) properly formatted ref.

Wikipedia citation tool for Google Books

I used it to improve two such references.

It really helps creates a much cleaner list of references. I hope you will try it. S Philbrick(Talk) 01:30, 5 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Regarding The Hague congress edit

I'll note this here for anyone intending to expand the article.

In a 1916 essay, Women and War, Agnes Repplier says, "When the women of France refused to participate in the International Congress of Women at The Hague, they defined their position in a document ...". This seems to put another spin on the reason for absence of the French delegates. The history.com article states that the French government "refused to allow delegates to attend the conference". A glance at some other sources suggests that the French group stated it is was unpatriotic, which accords with the position that Repplier was advancing. The second reference cited is to Addams Women at the Hague, a document that was first published in 1915 (not 2003, available here), and says the French understandably could not or would not attend. cygnis insignis 14:39, 15 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
