Suspicious article

I have been noticing all the spam by several accounts, and this article may be the result of one. It needs serious work to become useful. --Bobak 18:29, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Gradually transforming this into a useful article. It was littered in self-promotion and inappropriate references. See other sections in Talk for more about this. --Orun Bhuiyan (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 21:11, 14 July 2014 (UTC)

Towards wikification

Let me take a run at some changes. The lede is too long and makes statements that are not supported in the body. I will focus on that for starts. That might make it easier to see what else is wrong. DCDuring 16:19, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

The bulk of the text is a how-to. That does not conform to Wikipedia policy. See WP:NOT#HOWTO. There ought to be a way to save some of the content in the howto section. I will get to it in my copious free time. DCDuring 16:36, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Indeed. From the policy "Wikipedia is an encyclopedic reference, not a textbook. The purpose of Wikipedia is to present facts, not to teach subject matter. It is not appropriate to create or edit articles which read as textbooks". This currently reads like a textbook. Murtoa (talk) 10:47, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

I've removed the additional references and suggest that none are used again for this article. Similar to the article on loyalty program, this article in general is a potential haven for self-promotion and it becomes impossible to distinguish between what is generally meant as helpful information as opposed to pushing one's own business or point of view. I, too am uncomfortable overall with this article which veers too much towards academic musings rather than verifiable facts. Murtoa (talk) 03:21, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Additionally, three of the four references at present point to the same website, heightening the discomfort level. Murtoa (talk) 03:26, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Added better integration into Wikipedia by linking this article to other relevant articles and external references based on genuine and academically sanctioned research. Found and removed a lot of self promotion and unsubstantiated references to external sites. I will continue to add and edit to this page as it could be further improved. Feel free to ask me any questions. --Orun Bhuiyan (talk) 16:56, 14 July 2014 (UTC)

Merge with Sales Incentive Plan

The Sales Incentive Plan article does not present enough information to stand on its own. As sales incentive plans are a subset of incentive programs, these two articles should be merged. Neelix (talk) 15:14, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

These two articles are merged. --Orun Bhuiyan (talk)

Inaccurate categorical delineation

Sections within this article were not appropriately organized. It seems editors had been adding new sections under "types" without consideration toward whether the collection of all these types is a fitting breakdown of the topic. I've edited the types article to consolidate some of the more superfluous types, remove self-promotion, reference appropriate research and establish a better hierarchy of sections. --Orun Bhuiyan (talk) 18:03, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
