Hello! I will be reviewing and providing feedback on this article for the Taylor Swift song "I Can do it With a Broken Heart"

Well-written

edit

I see a minor issue with the prose in Background and release - around the time the media reported - it seems sort of unwieldy in the context of the paragraph; Try to replace with "amidst media reports" instead. "the media" is a bit too broad.

Verifiable with no original research

edit

In order to sustain directory to cited information, in the Personnel section, it should have a "credits adapted from TTPD linear notes" cite before the credit list.

To celebrate the European leg of the tour, Universal Music released the song to Italian radio as the second single from the album on July 2, 2024. Is there a way to cite a third-party source instead of a press release sourced from UMG? I know a majority of the Wikipedian user base don't really dabble in the Italian media, but I should like to see a third-party source here. ( to digress, ) some good articles nowadays have cited first-party companion podcasts (like the ones that HBO does for its shows) for nitty-gritty details, and those are examples of perfectly fine citations so long as other sources establish notability. This however does not seem like something that such allowances should, under idealism, be allowed for, but if nobody can find such an article from the Italian media, based on the idea that this release from Universal is inherently reliable, I can let it go under the same standards as those podcasts. I trust that some work, if not already done, will be done to find an Italian media source, (or any source from anywhere, but really, nobody else besides their media would be expected to cover that niche) I will idealistically practice WP:AGF that effort was made. Wow, I have gone on for a bit about this. Please do check, though.

Broad in its coverage

edit

This page enjoys detail in notable, specific aspects of the subject, while having rudimentary yet vital summary of its contextual parent, TTPD.

Neutral

edit

This article employs attributed opinions and does not seem to delve off into anything contemptible.

Stable

edit

I see, upon a look-through of this article's recent history and its talk page, no major problem-causing edit-warring or the like contributing to any article instability.

Illustrated

edit

TS performing at the Eras Tour is most definitely perfectly relevant to this. Would it not be prudent to include a small snippet of a discussed section of the song in here for audio? I can do with two pieces of illustration in this article, that would satisfy this under the context of the article. Maybe a bit more research is required: not too much. It just needs to have something to demonstrate. I don't think it'll take too long to do.

Overall

edit

Overall: For a non-single song, this is well-done to a degree which proves it may be a good article. Fix a minor bit of prose, try to find a third party cite for the Italian Radio single release, find a clip for a bit of the song that is discussed by critics for the Critical reception section (may need additional research) or a demonstrative clip that gets the idea of what it sounds like across to a listener, and put a "credits adapted" citation in the Personnel section. I will then likely pass the article when that is done. Good work on all who contributed to this article, I'm eager to see the products of what I have stipulated so that this may be a good article!

Status:

edit

Not done (suggestion: check out Thriller (song) for a good example on how to format an audio clip and an image, this good article does a nice job at it.

I will be giving special consideration to this review, allowing the nominator (and perhaps others) ten additional days after July 12, (the day I have placed this review on hold) until July 22, to address my concerns, as they are semi-active on Wikipedia, and I feel that these concerns aren't dealbreakers. Hi @BarntToust: thanks for the review, I've adjusted the wording re. "media reports". I think the Universal Music press release is reliable enough per WP:ABOUTSELF or WP:SINGLE?; the latter is a common guideline for Music editors after an extensive discussion I believe. I've also added the sound sample :) Ippantekina (talk) 04:36, 15 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
I'll take a look at that now. Universal Music will be fine, though, so all's well on that.
I also don't really stand on my point of having the "credits adapted" section, for that's a bit too redundant and extremely verifiable. That gets let go.
This article is good for GA status. Thanks for working on this, it's a job well-done! BarntToust (talk) 14:06, 15 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
